Young Living Gifts – Happy New Year

Liz James · January 1, 2023 ·

Happy New Year friends! Are you ready for 2023? I have been looking forward to beginning this year with an unusual degree of anticipation 🥳🤪😍!
Young Living January order gifts with purchase (ha ha!….. I just accidentally typed “gift with purpose”….. that too! 😉) are helpful self care items. Perhaps a little more focused self care is on your “to do” list for 2023?
🎉10 Loyalty Reward points for orders over 100PV with a Loyalty Reward Order. (Ya’ll…… if you like to save money and you aren’t on Loyalty Rewards, you are totally missing out on an opportunity! This is on top of the points you’ll already be getting simply for placing a Loyalty Rewards order.
Example: When I buy NingXia Red and Life 9 every month, I’ve spent $115.25. However…. with Loyalty Rewards, I get 25% back (10% back for the first 3 months, 20% back for months 4 thru 24, and 25% back thereafter….. LOYALTY pays 💰💰💰! ).
In addition to that 28.81 in points I’m getting back, I’ll also get an additional 10 points back. That means this: I didn’t spend $115.25 on NingXia Red and Life 9. I spent $76.44 which is a very affordable insurance policy on Charlie James and my health 😉.
🎉 Lavender is truly the Swiss Army Knife of oils. If you don’t know which oil to use, try lavender! Truly. It’s an oil that has 1001 uses. I personally use it for sleep, wound support, as an ingredient in my all purpose nasal spray and face serum, as an ingredient in the “LLPC” capsules or diffuser blend many of us use for “anti” allergy support. A little goes a long way, but even so, we probably go thru 4+ bottles a year. Just like my pocket knife, I don’t go far without a little lavender on hand!
🎉 The Satin Facial Scrub is a gentle minty exfoliant for your face (or arms and neck too!). This time of year can be hard on skin, so a little extra pampering would be helpful! YL makes all of its products with a purpose all the way down to the seemingly most insignificant ingredient. Have you done a little digging on the benefits of apricot seed powder? It is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins A & E both of which help to nourish and moisturize skin. (They actually do quite a bit more, and I’ll leave the investigating up to you 😉)
🎉 I do quite a bit of lab work analysis as part of my health coaching/mentoring world. It’s ceased to be shocking to me how many people are Vitamin D deficient, because it’s so very common. We tend to think of Vitamin D and its relationship to bone health, but did you know that lower levels of Vitamin D affect insulin production, immune system function, mood, cardiovascular health, and about 400 other things in the body? Seasonal Affective Disorder is a huge problem for many people this time of year, and two major helpers for circumventing “SAD” are light therapy and Vitamin D. I suggest everyone get their Vitamin D levels checked annually (I’m even seeing teenagers with low levels😬) and be proactive! It usually takes several months to get Vitamin D levels back up to optimal levels ( 60-90ng/ml). Super Vitamin D is an excellent source for many people when taken regularly (Adults who are very low in D will need a higher strength. Feel free to message me about this if you have questions! ), and it’s another gift this month!
🎉“God grant me the wisdom to change the things I can change in 2023, and the wisdom to accept the things that I cannot.” A bottle of Acceptance essential oil isn’t magical and by itself, it won’t make that above phrase come to pass (especially if you don’t open the bottle 😉). There is science 🤓 behind this blend (as always with YL…. they don’t create products “just because”) , and the effects certain oils have on the body support the brain and neurotransmitters in ways that support healthy thought/action patterns. (Maybe that means embracing change instead of fighting it or maybe it means living with a new kind of normal in a harmonious way). The beginning of every year, every month, every week, every day, and even every moment is an opportunity to think and do in a way that inspires a beautiful and productive life. God really does desire that we be the best version of ourselves!
Acceptance is a light, fresh smelling essential oil blend I think you’ll find pleasant and uplifting.
I’m praying each one of you looks forward with anticipation to all 2023 will bring us. Imagine what the world would be like if we all used our gifts, talents, and treasures in the fullest potential!

How to Make Apple Cider Vinegar from Scraps

Liz James · December 31, 2022 ·

So I heard yesterday that the beloved brand Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar was bought out by Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and some other investors in 2019, and changes to the product (negative ones )😔 are beginning to surface. No more Braggs for this household of ours.
Know your product and know it well friends.
Perhaps it’s time to learn to make our own 😉. It’s a fairly simple process…. just takes a little patience.

Homesteading with Plain Values Magazine 2022

Liz James · December 30, 2022 ·

Plain Values magazine (available in print 🥰for those of us who love paper in hand while reading) delivers some good wisdom on balancing humility with the pride of self sufficiency. We need community ya’ll. God designed us to need one another…. and resisting community affects mental health. (You can see the evidence of this by the escalation of mental health issues following lockdowns. ).

Homesteading is very rewarding especially when you find your community. Many hands make for lighter work! Some of the most beautiful memories I have when we first began homesteading in 1995 are the occasions friends and family came out to help us with some really big projects. It was humbling to be on the receiving end…. something Charlie and I are not used to. 🙏❤️

The Fate of Two Companies

Liz James · December 29, 2022 ·

Good word from Dr. Woolley this fine Friday morning! In a “me first” instant gratification world we live in, a product minded company is definitely swimming against the current. This is the type of company I choose to do business with whenever possible.
xoxo~ liz

–The FATE of Two COMPANIES–
The question is what is the fate of an Opportunity-Minded Company versus a Product-Minded Company? The long-term success of any network marketing company is to sell products to its independent distributors at a price that will provide the company sufficient profits for the company’s ongoing operation.
I’ve watched network marketing companies fail for several reasons. Sometimes the 4-5 owners excessively argue over the operation and profits of the company. Sometimes divorce between husband and wife owners can ruin the company. Other times poor management decisions regarding commissions or company profits lead to doom. These company failures can happen to both the Opportunity-Minded Company and the Product-Minded Company.

–OPPORTUNITY-Minded COMPANY
An Opportunity-Minded Company is one that survives primarily by focusing on expanding the number of new recruits, its new independent distributors. This company produces innovative products to be purchased by its distributors, but keep the number of products to a minimum. This company heavily invests its efforts in training and encouraging distributors to recruit new prospects.
-Opportunity-minded companies rely on prospecting and recruiting new people
-Opportunity-minded companies keep the number of products to a minimum
-Opportunity-minded companies rarely go out-of-stock on products
-Opportunity-minded companies do not usually manufacture products
-Opportunity-minded companies tend to have low retention of new recruits
-Opportunity-minded companies spend much of their effort teaching about recruiting
-Opportunity-minded companies often have to re-invent themselves to survive
-Opportunity-minded companies usually own office buildings as their only assets
-Opportunity-minded companies frustrate product-minded distributors
-Opportunity-minded companies usually survive less than 15 years
In my extensive experience, the Opportunity-Minded Company has a relatively short life (typically 8-12 years). When it goes bankrupt its independent distributors must find another host company. When sold the company never regains momentum. Owners and executives of the company made lots of money. So did the top distributors. Most of the people end up as losers; for without a host company they have no income.

–PRODUCT-Minded COMPANY
A Product-Minded Company focuses its efforts to produce exclusive products that meet the needs to its independent distributors. This company attracts independent distributors using its unique products. This company spends considerable efforts training its independent distributors on using products, product benefits, product features, and how to share products with prospective recruits.
-Product-minded companies focus attention on innovative new products
-Product-minded companies tend to have a wide variety of products
-Product-minded companies frequently experience out-of-stock product situations
-Product-minded companies often manufacture their own products
-Product-minded companies have high retention of active distributors
-Product-minded companies focus efforts on educating about new and existing products
-Product-minded companies typically own manufacturing and farming assets
-Product-minded companies tend to build portfolios of patents and intellectual property
-Product-minded companies frustrate opportunity-minded distributors
-Product-minded companies attempts to follow rules and regulations
-Product-minded companies usually survive more than 15 years

The fate of the Product-Minded Company is generally the best choice. The company survives for generations; allowing its distributors to bequeath or sell their leadership position. The company expands to numerous countries providing a 24/7 network of distributors and product orders.
The stability of the company provides comfort and confidence to its distributors. Generations of distributors are committed to purchasing and using the unique products of the company. Cole Woolley, PhD

Combat Colds or Flus

Liz James · December 29, 2022 ·

I’ve read a few articles now recently on the shortage of cold and flu products on the shelves of pharmacies. I can think of at least 2 dozen ways to combat colds or flu, and none of them involve the chemicals missing on these shelves. ❤️🌿❤️ And there’s no shortage 🌿 😉.
Perhaps you’ve recently stumbled across my page or this might be the first time you’ve ever thought about something outside of using “itchy, sneezy, stuffy head so you can rest medicine” from the pharmacy.
Perhaps you are a little dubious.
If the shelves are a little barren, this might be the time to learn a new trick or two. Self reliance is becoming more and more important, as is being part of a community that teaches others how to be self reliant too.
My dad gave me some great advice. This is one of his nuggets…..The best time to learn to change a tire is not when the tire is flat. The best time to change a tire, is when you have time to learn how to change a tire. 😉 Come kick some tires with me.
