He anoints our heads with oil

Liz James · April 13, 2021 ·

When we hear about oil being used in the Bible, it may be easy to glide over the word and move on……( at least it was for me years ago) until I learned the historical uses for essential oils and pure carrier oils (like olive, coconut, jojoba, etc). Once I knew, reading the Bible became a 4th dimensional experience because I could grab an oil and thru smell and application, step into the pages.
There is a document called The Papyrus Ebers which contains recipes for health and wellness. It is the longest and most famous document relating to the practice of ancient medicine, written about 1500 B.C.. The Bible is ripe with medical information that coorborates the Papyrus Ebers….. not surprising considering the Bible is to be used as a handbook for living life well ( and healthy!).
When Jesus was given gold, frankincense and myrrh, the latter two had more value than the gift of gold for their health benefits (and monetary value too).
A good shepherd knew the medicinal value of oil that came from plants. He would know which plants repelled flies, made the best poultices,  or healed a wound. This information was passed down from generation to generation. Neither man, beast, or plant has changed much over the centuries, and God has not changed at all.
He gave us what we need in the garden🙏. It’s up to us to use it.

Meet Justice

Liz James · January 11, 2021 ·

The beauty of life is this….. wonderful things happen regardless of chaos or calm. Meet Justice.  A curious thing about this little guy….. we had just about decided that his mama was sterile and we were going to have to let her go. 3 months ago I noticed that she appeared to be preggo, but I didn’t want to hold out too much hope since she’s kinda “big boned ” and has shown false signs before. Rosie continued to show small signs that got bigger and more obvious, so I knew we had turned a corner with her… and goodness was surely coming. Last night I knew we were less than 24hrs from go time.
Justice was delivered early this morning.❤
Keep the faith friends. Sometimes when you are ready to bail out, that’s when God shows up.
Have a beautiful day!

Salmon – A Sad Reality

Liz James · November 21, 2020 ·

Well…. this is a disappointing truth. I have to be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of salmon until I tasted true wild caught in Washington state a few years ago. #ohmyword! Sadly, I haven’t had it since, only because….. well, when you’ve had the best…. how do you go back to mediocre?
Turns out, mediocre might reflect the flavor, but “toxic” is actually a more justifiable adjective. I’ll let you read the article or watch the video  yourself. Here are my takeaway 🤯 ‘s:
😳 more than 1/3rd of “wild caught” salmon isn’t wild caught.
😳 the world produces more farmed (and toxic) fish than it does beef. Factory farming fish is a danger to the environment by polluting the waterways with excessive crowding , fish waste, and a toxic soup of fish food (made of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, PCB’s, and GMO’d crops pelletized into fish food).
😳 the “not wild ‘wild caught'” salmon is actually salmon that has escaped factory farming netted pens.
😳 Farmed salmon has 8x higher toxin loads than true wild caught salmon.
😳 Farmed Salmon contains far higher amounts of Omega6’s (It’s bad for the body to have a high Omega 6 vs Omega 3 ratio)
😳 When a factory farmed salmon breeds with a wild caught salmon, the babies don’t tend to survive because they are genetically not equipped.
💗🐟 💗 You can find healthy Salmon by looking for the MARINE STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL (MSC) logo on the packaging. (Logo: MSC plus a blue checkmark that is in the shape of a fish)
If you are eating at a restaurant…. ask the hard questions before you order Salmon!
enjoy your weekend!
