We’ve had some really aggressive hornets attempt to take over our porch this week. (I’m pretty sure they aren’t officially Murder Hornetsπ), but act like close cousins, so I’ve named them Mayhem Hornets!π Any entomologists out there that can identify these? They are HUGE and have a nasty long stinger. They aren’t yellow jackets… too big …. any thoughts?

Wasp Treatment
It must be a bad season for stinging insects. A friend posted just a bit ago in another group about using Basil for a sting (with huge success!). I LOVE that God gave us so many quick remedies for problems such as these, and we are not limited to one solution! After you’ve used oils for awhile, you’ll have found that this is always the case. #multipurposetools
Yesterday, I got stung on the finger by a wasp. What you see in the pic was my 3 step remedy:
1. Cut an onion and rub the onion on the sting for 3-4 minutes. Do this as quickly as you can after the incident to neutralize the poison.
2. Apply YL lavender essential oil to the stung area. #notthecheapstuff
3. Put a tablespoon of baking soda in a shot glass and add a little vinegar (it will get foamy super fast, so do this over the sink). Then apply the mixture to your boo-boo stung area.
I was able to do this immediately after I got stung and had ZERO evidence of a sting 15 minutes after it happened.
Not much later, Charlie was putting hay out and he got stung 3 times. π³ He didn’t get to apply this magical trio until about 15 minutes after it happened…. it did the trick for him too. No swelling. No pain.
Easy peasy!

Game Changer
5 years and 23 days ago I went into surgery thinking I was going to come out an amputee. Frankly, the fact that I was “only” going to lose my left foot was an emotional relief to me…. it could have been much much worse, and more important body parts could have been damaged if things had gone differently.
I know it may sound strange, but I was at peace with the future of a prosthetic (even before the actual complete removal of my foot had taken place). That may account for my literal disappointment when I woke up from surgery and saw my toes peeking out from a well bandaged lower leg…… I knew I was in for a rocky road ahead. Severed tendons, a broken bone, significant soft tissue and connective tissue damage (along with a statement from my surgeon that I’d probably walk with a limp for the rest of my life) did not give much hope for living pain free.
And yet… here I am πππ…. 5 years and 23 days later…. doing all the things I did before my run in with the bull. Frankly, I’m even more active than I was. Farm chores π©βπΎ 5K’s, regular gym Boot Camp workouts πͺ (thank you Fit Body Boot camp), hiking up a glacier, teaching yoga…. ALL these things without pain or impaired flexibility.Β
Diet, exercise (motion is lotion!), focusing on increased flexibility, clean water intake, toxin free living……. all these are important in recovery and also pain and inflammation management.
The icing on the cake tho….. the special tools in the toolbox…. are these: Agilease or BLM + Sulfurzyme.
Because I had significant bone and ligament damage, I take BLM + Sulfurzyme daily…. every day….. 365 days a year.
I live my life pain free. Yup. Not a day with pain for this gal.Β πππ
2 SULFURZYME TWICE A DAY.
1 BLM TWICE A DAY.
πGame changers for my life π…. Because life is too short to spend it sitting on the bench (or on the porch)! π
Haven’t tried these yet, and you’re sitting on the sidelines? What are you waiting for? Life is short friends …. make the most of it!Β Β

Good Days Bad Days
Facebook is so kind… it always asks “What’s on your mind?” whenever I venture in. (As if they careπΆ. Believe me, they don’t condone my view of the current narrativeπ)
These three things have been consuming quite a bit of my time these days… what about you? What’s something that’s consuming quite a bit of your time (good or bad) these days?

Honey
Who doesn’t love honey? π
Raw (unfiltered & unpasteurized) honey has recently been found to have an added health benefit!
Research has revealed honey’s ability to decrease the overall amount of cholesterol in the bloodstream. Pretty cool, huh?
πQuick Facts (based on the study linked below) π
πΌ Honey was compared with sucrose in this study. Each study participant was given approx 10 teaspoons of either sucrose or honey per day for 6 weeks.
πΌ Those who consumed honey had significantly decreased total cholesterol and LDL (the “bad” guys), and increased HDL (the “good” guys).
πΌ Conversely, those who consumed sucrose had increased total cholesterol and LDL levels, and a decrease in HDL levels.
πΌ The main finding of the study was the ability of raw honey to modulate certain risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease. π
I love raw honey for a variety of reasons, and this study gave it another β in my book. There really are amazing healing capabilities in whole fresh foods!
Raw honey can sometimes be found in grocery stores…. but usually, it is best found at Farmer’s Markets, Feed Stores, and thru a neighborhood beekeeper….. the more local the source the better it will serve you π and your allergies.
πHoney is also loaded with something called polyphenols…. a nutritionally dense phytochemical having antioxidant properties.
Want to spice up your honey a little and add even more polyphenols to your day? Add a drop or two of YL Clove Vitality (#5620) or YL Cinnamon Vitality (#5585) oil to your honey. Both oils are approved for ingestion by the FDA. π
