April Gifts from Young Living

Liz James · April 1, 2021 ·

No foolin’! Happy April friends!

We will begin to see some slightly different Young Living lingo as we prepare as a company to migrate over to a new gorgeous and easy to use website in the next month. #itshappening !
Our monthly freebies will be called “gift with (qualifying) purchase”…. easy enough, right?

Here’s a few tips on this month’s gift with purchase:
Thieves (15ml): if you haven’t popped a roller top on this staple and been applying to the bottoms of your feet on a daily basis, you are missing out on a VIP Immune supportive tool! Remember, what goes on the body affects every cell in the body (good or bad). Thieves is a highly potent “good guy”.

Bergamot (5ml): elevate your mood with a few drops of this beauty in your diffuser! It is our pastor’s favorite oil to diffuse in his office while he works (one of mine too!).

Grapefruit (15ml): one of my personal favorites! Such a fresh and happy scent in the diffuser, and when applied topically (or using the vitality internally…. remember, same oil different label) it’s very supportive of metabolism and lymphatic system flushing.

Jade Lemon (5ml): Another glorious smelling happy citrus oil! I keep a bottle of Jade Lemon in my laundry room and add a few drops to dryer balls to freshen up my laundry.

Tangerine (15ml): My favorite of all the citrus oils! Relaxing and happy ! All of these citrus oils are loaded with limonene…… if you areย  inclined….. head over to pubmed.gov and do some digging. You will be shocked (in a good way!) and amazed at what limonene does for us.

Citrus Fresh (15ml): Ya’ll, we’re all gonna feel like we live smack dab in the middle of a citrus orchard before April is over๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿˆ, and I’m good with that! God gave us these fragrances because He knew how impactful they are to our neurotransmitters that need a little happy boost sometimes! I implore you…… grab your books and do some digging. Each one of these oils have powerful jobs beyond just smelling amazing!

Peppermint (15ml): Well now, peppermint anywhere is amazing! Remember that it too comes as both “regular” and “vitality” (same oil, different bottle label). In the diffuser, it’s amazing for concentration and focus, and when added to your water it also adds a little pep to your step (and aids in calming unhappy colons!). Topically, it can help cool a hot body (have you ever tried making a “hot day ” body spray?). This oil is incredibly versatile and I bet ya’ll could drop another 20 ways you have used this oil!

How are ya’ll going to use these? Share a way you use one of these oils! You’ll be helping others out just by sharing your experiences and victory stories!

Young Living March Freebies

Liz James · March 1, 2021 ·

How did we sail (or freezeย  ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) thru February so fast? Well, here we are in March 2021 already!

If you are already a Young Living member, take some time today to adjust your Essential Rewards order so you can get the freebies that are calling you name this month…. there are some goodies for sure!ย  Rutavala and Copaiba are staples at our house. Free is a beautiful thing ( and it means I can get that new tube of YL Savvy mascara and brown multi-tasker I’ve been needing ๐Ÿ˜)!

Here’s a little background on the freebies this month from the science side:
๐Ÿ‘‰Blue Cypress: we don’t hear about it often…… but I’ve learned that whenever you see a “blue” oil, sit up and take notice because it’s power packed. Not only does it smell AMAZING (one of the reasons it’s often found in perfumes), it supports a healthy inflammatory response….. and friends, there is a BIG difference between a healthy and unhealthy inflammatory response ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Do some digging on it…… it also helps create an inhospitable environment for viruses ๐Ÿ˜‰.

๐Ÿ‘‰Idaho Grand Fir (formerly known as Idaho Balsam Fir) is also well known for supporting a healthy inflammatory response. Do you feel like you can breathe more easily when you are in an evergreen forest? Crisp and clean…… but there’s more to it than that! These trees have powerful constituents (another word for natural “ingredients”) God put in them to help us breathe more easily. Our forefathers (rather, fore-mothers most likely!) used to make syrups and poultices from this tree to help when lungs were not functioning as they should. Do some digging….. our ancestors were some smarties even tho they didn’t know the science behind it all!

๐Ÿ‘‰Rutavala is one of my faves! Normally I buy the premade roller bottle to help me sleep at night. ( I Swipe it across the base of my big toes for a great night’s sleep). The disadvantage of the roller bottle is that it’s premixed with carrier oil and you can’t drop it into a diffuser either. This 5ml blend is undiluted, so you can get your relaxation in many different forms! Make your own roller bottle (that’s my plan!) or use it however you prefer. Rutavala tends to be seasonal, so it’s not uncommon to find it out of stock later in the year……. if you love it, and it serves you well ….. be sure to snag it for free! I believe a good night’s sleep is priceless ๐Ÿ˜ด!

๐Ÿ‘‰Copaiba is another of my faves. Frankly, every home should have this one on hand at all times, especially once you realize what it can do. It has a very “quiet” fragrance, but don’t let that fool you. It too supports a healthy inflammatory response for everything from teething to sore joints to inflamed tummies or lungs. (Do some digging on this powerful and stealthy oil!)

๐Ÿ‘‰Lavender…. what can I say? It’s a Swiss army knife in the oil world. If you aren’t sure which oil to grab, 99 times out of 100, Lavender will do the trick! And 15mls on this one friends! ……because you can never have too much lavender in the house! Can I get an Amen??

๐Ÿ‘‰Clary Sage…. it’s not just for gals (although gals, it may become your BFF if you need a little assist during “that time of the month” or your spouse or significant other says you have bit of inner dragon * during certain times of the month.)ย
Historically speaking, this plant was used to draw thorns and splinters from the skin. I don’t know about you, but thorns and splinters still exist…. just ask a farmgirl or farm guy ๐Ÿ˜‚. Did you know…. Clary sage also plays a role in supporting the immune system, calming digestive disorders, and supporting a healthy inflammatory response (especially on the skin?…… perhaps adding a couple drops to your DIY skin serum may be in order? ๐Ÿ˜‰)

All of this goodness is free with qualifying orders…. see the graphic for deets.๐Ÿ˜
What’s your fave? How do you best use it? Let’s help each other out and drop a story about how one of these oils has helped you or your family in the comments below. I might even send someone who comments a little happy mail * just in time for St. Paddy’s Day!ย
Happy March Everyone!!

Ornaments with a Purpose

Liz James · November 3, 2020 ·

Good morning friends! These gift ornaments we will be receiving with our 300PV orders this month are life changers….. perhaps not for you (although they will be amazing diffusers and are beautiful!!), but for the ladies who have made them for each one of us!

In a season where gratitude is celebrated, I wanted to share how grateful I am that Young Living partners with people who have been empowered by the Young Living Foundation to receive a hand up instead of a hand out.

I had no idea these ornaments were100% hand made. This is no “made in China” mass produced ornament, created by some machine. I would imagine, if you looked closely, some of them may even include a fingerprint or two.

We are blessed beyond measure for all that we have, and I am grateful for these ladies, their handiwork, and the joy they have in being able to take care of their families because of partnering with YLF. ๐Ÿ’–

#4 Corona Virus 101

Liz James · March 12, 2020 ·

Post #4 Corona Virus 101….. Diagnostics

Last night our President declared corona virus a national emergency here in the USA. He also declared that a very small population overall appears to be at high risk. If you are generally a healthy person, that lowers your risk category considerably. (Either way, please refer to Post #3/ Demographics in this series if you aren’t sure.)

If you develop flu like symptoms while we are under the umbrella of this declaration, it is prudent to continue to examine the facts:

Fact #1: It’s still cold and flu season throughout the United States (and probably the world), and symptoms of a cold, flu, or corona virus are all very similar. Additionally, depending on your overall health status, all illnesses may not look the same…. mild cases of all 3 may not even have much of a fever, while severe cases could technically settle into secondary bacterial infections in some people.

Fact #2: Right now, testing is still sketchy. Some people have been tested as many as 6 times before testing positive. Testing kits from the CDC are faulty according to reports… with a 50% accuracy rate.

Additionally, I’ve read that mutations of the original virus have already occurred at least once (common with viruses), so my personal confidence level in testing will likely remain low throughout this situation.

Fact #3: If you are “kinda sick” but don’t feel awful…. but that inner fear is driving you to want to know…. do I have “IT”?……. is it worth it to go to a dr’s office and sit in a germ infested waiting room where you might actually catch something worse than what you have? …. all to receive a test that may not yield accurate results? #rememberwhatcuriositydidtothecat

You do you of course, but my gut tells me, this would not be in my plans for personal care. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fact #4: Let’s just say you DO have “IT”, but don’t feel much differently than if you had a cold… and THEN, you go to the dr’s office to get tested and you, my friend, become the vector and spreader of germs to someone who quite possibly has an existing immunocompromised situation. …… all to receive a test that, again…. may or may not yield accurate results.

Be kind to others. Please keep your germs to yourself.

Fact #5: Mild illness is not the same as serious illness, and only you know your body and when your symptoms would constitute seeking medical attention. By all means…. go. Be kind tho to others as you evaluate your decision and put your plan into action.

(Please refer to my disclaimer below…. you do you.)

Fact #6: Certain masks are marginally helpful in preventing the spread of this virus. The N95 respirator masks are hard to come by these days, but are the only ones being recommended by the CDC. They filter particles down to .03 microns. (One of the “gain in functionality” issues of the corona virus is its particle size…. which has been found to be anywhere from .05-.02… smaller than what this type of mask is capable of filtering).

Keeping your hands clean, washed, and away from your nose, mouth, and eyes, is really your best option… as well as utilizing an immune boosting lifestyle, which starts with what you put into and on your body on a daily basis (please refer to Post #3 for basic lifestyle tips).

Tomorrow (or perhaps even late tonight if I have time), I’ll unpack what we know to be true about viruses and how to create an inhospitable environment for them. I’m spending today working at the pharmacy…. without a mask.
