February 2023 Free from Young Living

Liz James · February 1, 2023 ·

FEBRUARY IS HERE YA’LL! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? FEBRUARY WRAPS UP THE TIME OF YEAR WHEN OUR BODIES ARE CRAVING “REST AND REFRESH” TIME.
(Total sidebar factoid๐Ÿค“: yes, we’re all seeing and hearing and perhaps paying high prices for “rare” chicken eggs right now. Who knows exactly “why” this is going on this particular year ๐Ÿง(hang on while I adjust my well-worn tinfoil hat), but winter months ARE common for chickens to rest and rejuvenate their oviducts. God made them that way so that they can lead long productive lives. He did the same for us too…… embrace this last month of hibernation and take care of yourself!)
ย
Young Living is kindly giving us tools for free (with a qualifying purchase) this month to help us rest and restore alligator winter skin and eyes that may have been spending too much time in front of a screen.
ย
I don’t know of another company that will give someone $190.00+ worth of product for free when spending 300+$, (or $96 for spending $190+), and yet YL does…. every single month. ๐Ÿฅฐ
ย
Lushious Lemon is one of my all-time favorite Young Living essential oil blends. I don’t know of a single person who doesn’t LOVE this aroma. This month we’re getting the Lushious Lemon Hand Lotion as part of our gift with purchase. YL never creates a product without a healthy purpose, and not only does the hand lotion nourish skin, the aroma just makes a person happy! (If you’re feeling grumpy or perhaps have a grumpy family member, you’ll never go wrong by diffusing the situation with a few drops of Lushious Lemon EO in your diffuser ๐Ÿ˜‰)
ย
If you aren’t yet utilizing the Loyalty Rewards opportunity (more free products and points to accumulate and use for purchasing MORE free products of your choosing), consider the benefits! You can learn more about how Loyalty Rewards works here: https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/learn/loyalty-rewards
ย
Loyalty Rewards orders also have the opportunity this month to receive 10 extra points (=free product) and the BLOOM YL essential oil blend. BLOOM can be used topically or diffused. It is a beautiful addition to skin care ( a combo of Vetiver, Blue Cypress, Davana, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Clove, Jasmine, Carrot seed, Spearmint, Geranium, and Sacred Frank). During your hibernation time, do a little pubmed.gov ๐Ÿค“digging on each one of these, and you find out exactly why (purpose) BLOOM was created ๐Ÿ˜.
ย
I’m especially excited that we’re getting IlluminEYES for free this month, as it’s something I’ve recently added to my daily regimen. Too much screen time is definitely taking a toll on my eyes, as well as normal aging…… and I’ve got a strong genetic predisposition to macular degeneration (and my eyeballs aren’t getting any younger๐Ÿคช). It’s much easier to be proactive than to try to reverse an active degenerative state in the body, so here I am…. give me all the eye health tips! I’m already wearing blue blocker glasses when in front of the computer, I use beneficial essential oils around the bony orbits of my eyes and drink NingXia Red daily. Our eyes need the proper support tools to function well, and IlluminEYES supports eye health. In addition to eye-happy vitamins, you’ll notice that IlluminEYES has Wolfberry fruit powder, Marigold Flower Extract, and Acerola cherry extract. Do some digging friends…. God gave us so much protection and healing directly from the garden.
ย
Coconut Lime Replenishing Body Butter is another one of my favorites! My dry winter legs soak this creamy body butter in, and it literally smells like I just stepped into somewhere tropical, warm, and happyโ›ฑ๐Ÿโ˜€๏ธ! You won’t be disappointed, and neither will your skin!
ย
Embrace this final month of hibernation! I know your body is appreciating the tools and recovery time you’re spending so you can be at your very best come springtime!
ย

Vitamin D Levels

Liz James · January 3, 2023 ·

I mentioned Vitamin D two days ago. Roughly 42% of the US population is deficient according to Western Medicine standards (below 30 ng/ml). There’s a big difference between being barely “ok” according to these standards and having healthy levels (optimal levels should be 60-80ng/ml). I suspect 75-80% of the US population is not within optimal levels.
Thank you Dr. Gessling for posting this study.

Make sure you know your lab values for Vitamin D, and make sure you are supplementing if needed. Adequate levels sure makes life more pleasant! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pancreas – part 2 Type 1 Diabetes

Liz James · August 31, 2022 ·

The Southern Side of the Endocrine System: Pancreas Part II – Type I Diabetes
โ€œHistory is not history unless it is the truth.โ€ ~ Abraham Lincoln
ย
The metamorphosis of diabetes in the United States over the last 100 years is an interesting tale with several thieves of health participating in what seemingly feels like a collaborative effort to bring large populations of unsuspecting citizens to the feet of Big Pharma. Diabetes may happen in one of two main ways: the destruction of the beta cells within the pancreas (Type I), or a rising resistance within the body to insulin (Type II). For the sake of todayโ€™s history lesson, the focus will be on Type I diabetes, also called Juvenile diabetes or diabetes mellitus.
ย
In 1920, diabetes in kiddos was quite uncommon, with an incidence of 3-4 per 100,000. In an eighty year span, by the year 2000, the incidence had risen to 3-4 per 1,000. Today, that number (1 in 250) is still continuing to rise. Interestingly, these stats do not include previously healthy adults who acquire Type I diabetes after the age of 20 (approximately 1.6 million adults โ€ฆ.. 5.7% of all US adults diagnosed with diabetes according to the CDC). I think youโ€™ll agree that those numbers point to quite a๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ crime spree where the theft of health is a decades long embezzlement scheme.
ย
Letโ€™s take a look at ringleaders and suspects.๐Ÿ”Ž
Type I diabetes is quite different from Type II. Causes and contributors include:
๐Ÿ”ŽAutoimmune dis-ease (nearly always toxin triggered)
๐Ÿ”ŽA family history of Type I diabetes which predisposes offspring genetically to a greater likelihood of acquiring Type I when exposed to epigenetic (environmental) challenges that are known as possible triggers to the gene.
๐Ÿ”ŽToxins (found in food, drink, household chemicals, personal care items, and environmental chemicals)
Infection
๐Ÿ”ŽVitamin D deficiency during pregnancy and childhood
๐Ÿ”ŽEarly childhood exposure to pasteurized homogenized cowโ€™s milk and dairy products (a completely different food than raw cowโ€™s milk)
๐Ÿ”ŽEarly childhood exposure to modern grain gluten sources, especially bleached white flour
๐Ÿ”ŽEarly childhood exposure to environmental chemicals found in foods (ex: glyphosate, nitrates and nitrites often found in processed meats)
๐Ÿ”ŽLeaky gut syndrome (which leak what the body identifies as toxins into the rest of the body)
๐Ÿ”ŽVaccinations known to have the capability to trigger Type I diabetes. Multiple documented cases and studies implicate Pneumococcal, Hep B, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B (HIB), MMR, and Covid vaccines as causative agents. (A good resource to learn more about this is the book, Millerโ€™s Review of Critical Vaccine Studies)
ย
Did you catch the common theme?๐Ÿง โ€ฆ.Toxin load.
White โ€œall purposeโ€ flour has a fascinating role in this crime vignette. โ€œAll purposeโ€ white flour* is wheat that has been stripped of the bran and germ layers (the nutrient dense portion of wheat berries which happens to shorten the shelf life of flour when included as part of flour). The flour then is exposed to chlorine gas to make the slightly brown remaining starchy flour white. When chlorine gas is exposed to the pigments ( the color which makes it brownish in appearance) in wheat flour, a chemical reaction occurs producing a byproduct chemical called alloxan. You wonโ€™t find alloxan on any ingredient list on breads or packaged foods because technically, itโ€™s not an added ingredient. Alloxan is a toxin and known carcinogen. It also has a strong affinity for the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Thatโ€™s rather unfortunate as it causes cellular death of the beta cells. When enough beta cells have died due to constant exposure to the white flour containing foods, insulin production decreases and ultimately risks stopping completely. The Textbook of Natural Medicine calls alloxan a โ€œpotent beta-cell toxinโ€. ( No kidding. Itโ€™s commonly used in clinical trials to induce diabetes in lab animals.) The textbook, Comprehensive Medicinal Chemistry II states:
โ€œAlloxan, a pyrimidine structurally similar to glucose and uric acid, directly disrupts ฮฒ-cell membrane permeability and produces irreversible ฮฒ-cell damage within 12 h in most animals. โ€œ
ย
Now, hereโ€™s the interesting history lesson: Flour was not bleached commercially until sometime after 1912. A good man by the name of Dr. Harvey Wiley MD was head of the Bureau of Chemistry (a precursor to the FDA) from 1908-1912. Dr. Wiley was a proponent of whole unprocessed foods, and he fought against bleached flour ( as well as benzoic acid, sulfites, saccharin, and other food additives) all the way to Capitol Hill by way of Congressional hearings. He ultimately left his position in 1912 in frustration and disgust, and later wrote a book in 1929 entitled “The History of A Crime Against The Food Law”. The government, in its wisdom ๐Ÿ™„, replaced Dr. Wiley with a Dr. Elmer Nelson, who was the antithesis of Wiley. Nelson was quoted as saying,
โ€œIt is wholly unscientific to state that a well-fed body is more able to resist disease than a poorly fed body. My overall opinion is that there hasnโ€™t been enough experimentation to prove that dietary deficiencies make one susceptible to disease.โ€
ย
In my opinion, Nelson was either unbelievably ignorant or a shill. It is interesting to note that prior to working for the FDA, Dr. Nelson worked for the Soft Wheat Millers Association. Ground wheat will actually whiten on its own without the dangerous alloxan byproduct if given the proper time (a month or two) and environment to do so, but time is money to the Soft Wheat Millers of America, and it helps to have friends in high places.
ย
Long story short, modern wheat, with its crazy high gluten content, additionally weaponized with probable alloxan content, and sprayed with glyphosates and other agricultural toxins would be high on the list of suspects๐Ÿ”Ž for creating mischief within the pancreas.
ย
I know. Itโ€™s not fun to think about doing without๐Ÿฅ– breads, ๐Ÿงpastries, ๐Ÿฅฃcereal, ๐Ÿœspaghetti, ๐Ÿง‡waffles, and ๐Ÿฅžpancakes to avoid high gluten content and pancreas damaging alloxan. Thankfully, Gary Young had the foresight to make available food products which contain the much healthier unbleached ancient grain einkorn. Young Livingโ€™s Einkorn Flour, Einkorn Granola, Einkorn Spaghetti, Einkorn Rotini Pasta, Einkorn Pancake and Waffle Mix, Einkorn Flakes Cereal, and (when in season) Einkorn (unground) Berries if, like me, you like to grind your own wheat. Whew! I was starting to feel a little like Bubba Gump going through that lineup available to us! Einkorn bakes a little differently than the bleached white stuff you may be used to, so theyโ€™ve even conveniently created an Einkorn cookbook (created by Heidi Ellis)! In it, are 80+ recipes for pizza dough, breads, cakes, crackers, tortillas and more. If you havenโ€™t tried einkorn products, you are in for a treatโ€ฆ.. They are far more flavorful than those made with bland unhealthy white flour. For those who must completely abstain from any form of gluten, Young Living also has a Gluten Free Pancake and Waffle Mix (sadly, it is currently out of stock), but there are many other healthy flour options to choose from in the marketplace: coconut, almond, oat, brown rice, amaranth, and chickpea are all good options.
One of the most valuable things we can give ourselves is empowered knowledge so that we can make informed decisions on what we choose to allow into our personal homes and bodies. Many of the causative agents listed above can be avoided, decreasing the odds of developing Type I diabetes and other dis-eases.
The second most valuable thing we can give ourselves is grace (without guilt) to do better once we know what we didnโ€™t know before. We canโ€™t know everything, and digging for factual information that is purposefully hidden (and frequently out of print) can be hard, confusing, and frustrating. Donโ€™t think for a minute that making it hard to find truth isn’t done to us on purpose. Understanding the true history of โ€œusโ€ is important to our health, so we can learn, do better, and avoid the lure of purposefully addictive foods created by industries (both food and Big Pharma) that have profit over purpose๐Ÿ˜  as its primary goal.
ย
Other ways to create a body environment for decreased risk of developing diabetes include:
โœ…Knowing levels of Vitamin D, and supplementing accordingly. Shoot for lab values 70-90 ng/mL. This is an important number to know during pregnancy, and frankly a valuable thing to know throughout life, even for infants and children. Depending on how much supplementing is needed, Young Livingโ€™s Super D may be enough for some adults and older children, while others may need a much higher dose (D3/K2) to maintain healthy levels.
โœ… Avoid nitrates, nitrites, and nitrosamines (often found in packaged meats)
โœ…Include cod liver oil in your supplement regimen. Itโ€™s available in liquid and capsule form.
โœ…Breastfeeding has been found to decrease the risk of Type I diabetes in children. Exposing babies in a delayed fashion to common suspect food triggers is also helpful.
โœ…Providing a solid source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids is also helpful. Young Livingโ€™s MindWise is a good liquid option for kids and is also helpful support for brain health and development. OmegaGize3 is another excellent option (for adults) in capsule form.
โœ…Strive for a diverse gut microbiome. People with Type I diabetes tend to have a less diverse gut microbiota. Use antibiotics only when absolutely necessary. According to the CDC, at least 30% of antibiotics prescribed are unnecessary. I personally believe that number is even higher. Not only does excessive antibiotic use breed antibiotic resistance, it has a profound negative effect on the gut microbiome.
โœ…Make a regular healthy source of antioxidants part of your daily routine to help offset the oxidative damage done to the beta cells in the pancreas. NingXia Red is an ideal option for all ages. The Young Living website gives an easily understandable explanation:
โ€œAntioxidants, why are they important? They are the antidote to oxidative stress! โ€ฆ..Oxidation has been implicated in the origin of more than 100 human diseases and in the aging process.โ€
Einkorn and NingXia Redโ€ฆ.. healthy and healing food options. Over 2400 years ago, Hippocrates said, โ€œLet food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.โ€ Good food is good medicine, with the ability to both protect and heal.

Fetal Programming

Liz James · August 16, 2022 ·

The Southern Side of the Endocrine System: What in the heck is fetal programming?
ย
Youโ€™ve heard it, and perhaps youโ€™ve even believed itโ€ฆ. the puffed up 10% truth most of us have been trained to wholly believeโ€ฆ that genetics largely determines our health fate. However, if youโ€™ve stuck with me this long youโ€™re a seasoned super sleuth and will already know that we have the upper hand. In becoming the conscientious gatekeepers of our personal โ€œtemplesโ€ (see I Corinthians 6:19), we are prohibiting the careless destruction caused by all things toxic to the mind, body, and spirit, and are largely (upwards of 90+%) able to prevent and circumvent the expression of wayward genes. THIS is what personal health and wellness management should look like.
ย
There is another aspect to this though that Iโ€™ve not yet mentioned: womb life, and what that means to us as adults. โ€œFetal programmingโ€ is the propensity for developing a disease or dysfunction later in life based solely on environmental womb conditionsโ€ฆ not genetics. Fetal programming starts the moment Harry (sperm) met Sally (egg) on the fallopian tube highway , and the effects of it will be felt throughout life and the life of your kids. Yes, what happened in your womb experience can affect future generations. Talk about scripture being walked out in life! (Exodus 20:5)
ย
Because I believe in learning from history, let me give you a well documented example of this phenomenon. During the winter of 1944 World War II, the Dutch suffered a 6 month starvation event at the hands of the Naziโ€™s. More than 4 million people were affected, surviving on about 30% of normal caloric intake. As you might suspect, pregnant women who lived through the Dutch Hunger Winter gave birth to babies who weighed a fraction of what a term baby should weigh. As adults, these children were found to be more susceptible to diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and other health problems, while their siblings did not. As a result of being starved โ€œin uteroโ€, their bodies developed a โ€œthriftyโ€ mechanism which altered insulin production and the normal metabolism of sugar. As a consequence, when these children grew into adulthood and lived in a โ€œnormal food availabilityโ€ world, their body still responded as though it was living in a state of starvation.
ย
While an adaptation like this is meant to be a survival mechanism, it doesnโ€™t always work out that way in health.
ย
More examples of this include:
๐ŸงA 2009 study which showed an association between maternal anxiety during pregnancy and the development of asthma in offspring.
๐ŸงA 2011 study which looked at the effects of a violent environment on a fetus during pregnancy. Offspring tended to have poorer health, more difficult temperament, and increased likelihood of depression.
๐ŸงA May 2022 study found that maternal prenatal depressive symptoms had a negative effect on toddler behavior which began expressing by the time they were 18 months old.
๐ŸงResearch has also shown that even chronic (key word) mildly stressful living situations can lead to negative changes in the fetus neurologically. The formation of neurons in a fetus begins at the 42nd day of pregnancy, and by the 28th week of pregnancy, a babyโ€™s brain contains billions of neuronsโ€ฆ.. 40% MORE than the adult brain contains. After the 28th week of pregnancy, complex structural and functional changes in the brain take place, and a chronically stressful environment has an effect on this development. The environmental impact of womb life on a babyโ€™s brain and body development is huge!
Perhaps you are curious how this happensโ€ฆ. ie: the root causes?
๐Ÿ‘ถDuring stress, there is a rise of maternal cortisol activity in the mom. A chronic higher than normal cortisol activity is thought to lead to the triggering of atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, and cholesterol levels as the babies advance through their own adulthood. Low birth weight babies (a clue!) are more likely to grow up having an exaggerated stress response and secrete higher levels of cortisol themselves, have a decreased vascular elasticity and delayed vasodilation (leading to issues related to high blood pressure), have fewer pancreatic beta cells (the cells that make insulin), and tend towards osteoporosis in adulthood.
๐Ÿ‘ถStress also activates the inflammation process in the babyโ€™s body, which leads to activation of the immune system, releasing chemicals called cytokines. Cytokines are not a bad thing until there is overproduction or inappropriate production, at which point disease or dysfunction occurs.
๐Ÿ‘ถA babyโ€™s brain does not begin to produce serotonin until late in pregnancy. The placenta does provide serotonin to the baby at a level which helps develop both structure and function of the babyโ€™s brain. Animal studies have shown that increased serotonin exposure to fetal brain tissue in utero alters many neuronal circuits which can lead to behavioral problems later in life.
๐Ÿ‘ถNeonatal nutritional deficiencies can affect fetal programming. Malnutrition comes in two forms: under nutrition (scarcity of food) and unhealthy eating habits with high calorie, low nutrition diets. Both result in a lack of essential micronutrients such as iron, folate, choline, vitamin B12, zinc, tryptophan, omega 3 fatty acids and iodine which are crucial to fetal brain development.
ย
All of this has profound implications on us as adults, but also on babies ๐Ÿ‘ถforming in the womb. For us grownup humans, if it is suspected (or known) that we were carried by our mothers under stressful conditions, some of us may have to work a little harder๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜ด at mediating stress response because of our own fetal programming scenario. Half the battle is understanding the why. ๐Ÿ˜‰The other half is knowing how to use the tools we have on hand to help support a healthy mind and body. Thank goodness for these tools of ours! Iโ€™ve talked at length about them, so I leave it up to you to revisit those posts. Ideally, please share in the comments below what modalities you have found that work best for you. Our personal stories help light the path so that others may also find their way.
ย
Now, what about these sweet babies๐Ÿ‘ถin the womb? Thankfully, the placenta plays a vital role in protecting the baby from harmful chemicals that may be in the motherโ€™s blood by acting as both a barrier and a filtration system. A healthy functioning placenta will go a long way to prevent a biochemical or synthetic chemical cause for negative fetal programming. I always smile when I hear a new mama talking about how her midwife or doctor marveled over the beauty of her placenta that was supported daily with NingXia Red. There are soooo many of these stories out there! Some of the ways a healthy placenta may be supported include: NingXia Red, Master Formula, Super C Chewables, Mineral Essence, Sulfurzyme, Multigreens, Super B.* (*all with approval from your trusted doctor or midwife of course! ).
ย
The good news is that fetal programming works both ways. Incorporating a healthy mind, body, and spirit/ soul experience throughout pregnancy with improved quality of food eaten, reduced exposure to hormone disruptive and toxic environmental chemicals and mediating maternal anxiety in natural ways improves the chances of a positively โ€œprogrammedโ€ tiny person who is more apt to be able to roll with lifeโ€™s punches physically and emotionally. Remember too, that thoughts and words mean something to the body whether that body is an adult or a fetus, and the effects may either be a honeyed balm or a toxin. Words matter, and the body reflects what we think and feel about ourselves.
ย
Use your Thieves Household Cleaner. Toss the toxins.
Diffuse your favorite Young Living essential oils. Ditch the endocrine disrupting fake fragrance air fresheners and plug-ins.
Honor your body and the bodies of future generations with your choices.
Think about all those little babies who are worth it! So are we. Each one of us.

Thyroid – part 6: Recap & Strategies

Liz James · April 26, 2022 ·

ย
Perhaps by now you are thinking, โ€œLordyโ€ฆ.is this information on the thyroid ever going to end?โ€ The trail of clues (and ah-ha moments for each individual) touches pretty much every aspect of the body, and there are many wonderful books and resources that go much deeper than I am here. Please, go research! You are worthy and capable of more than you may think. My goal here is to ignite the โ€œah-haโ€, and spur you towards digging deeper on your own, and perhaps that may even need to include finding the right health professional who will partner (key word there!) with you in your personal wellness journey.
ย
Recall that the thyroid has a symbiotic and synergistic relationship with many organs and glands in the body. (We havenโ€™t even covered the adrenal glands and sex hormones yet!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค“). There is a math phrase, โ€œThe whole equals the sum of the parts.โ€ This applies in biology as well: Our body cannot work wholly unless each part is well maintained and works!
ย
Before we head further southward in the endocrine system, letโ€™s take a look at a cliff notes version of supportive measures designed to keep your thyroid healthy and happy:
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽFood has the power to heal or kill. Choose wisely and know your sources! Nutrients are best received by the body if in natural form, and if supplementation is needed (often the case in our imperfect world! ๐Ÿ˜•), choose naturally sourced supplements! Synthetically derived supplements are unfortunately the most common ones found in the marketplace and do not do the job well. This is what makes having our naturally sourced Young Living supplements a beautiful, safe and effective one stop shopping experience!
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽThe thyroid needs very specific nutrients to produce sufficient levels of thyroid hormones:
๐ŸŒฟVitamin D: found in YLโ€™s Super Vitamin D and Master Formula, Balance Complete, MightyVites, MindWise, OmegaGize and Super Cal Plus.
ย
๐ŸŒฟVitamins B2 (riboflavin),B3 ( niacin) , and B6 (pyridoxine): found in YLโ€™s Super B, Master Formula, MightyVites and Balance Complete
ย
๐ŸŒฟIodine: found in YLโ€™s Multigreens, Master Formula, Thyromin,
Balance Complete, NingXia Nitro and Slique Shakes). Recall that it may be a good idea to have an iodine loading test done to see if your body needs more than it is currently getting in your diet and current supplementation.
ย
๐ŸŒฟVitamin E: found in Master Formula, MightyVites, Thyromin and IlluminEyes
ย
๐ŸŒฟIron: found in Master Formula, Balance Complete and Femigen
ย
๐ŸŒฟZinc: found in Master Formula, Immupro, PowerGize, Balance Complete, Slique Shakes, Super B, AminoWise, MegaCal, and MightyVites
ย
๐ŸŒฟSelenium: Master Formula, MightyVites, Immupro, Super B, Balance Complete
ย
๐ŸŒฟTyrosine: found in Thyromin and Multigreens
ย
Additional ways to support and love on that beautiful ๐Ÿฆ‹butterfly within your throat include:
๐Ÿ”ŽKeeping the toxinโ˜ ๏ธ load to a minimum! Thank goodness we have the entire Thieves Household Cleaner to keep our homes, cars, ourselves, and our pets spiffy, clean, and healthy! Butterflies (and your thyroid!) are so very sensitive to their environment. Recall that toxins include toxic emotions and unresolved drama and trauma. Toxins also may include gluten in susceptible individuals.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽBe alert for chronic low grade infections that create systemic low grade inflammation, and mediate accordingly. Common sites for these to occur may be within joint replacements, root canals and other dental infections, sinus cavities, breast implants, and parasitic๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿฆ  infections (usually undiagnosed!…. I personally do a parasite cleanse at least twice a year using Parafree along with major liver support)
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽSupport your toxin clearing organs so that they may do their job efficiently and effectivelyโ€ฆ. Pay close attention to how well your liver and kidneys work! If you have an MTHFR gene variance, youโ€™ll want to support your liver function on the regular. The liver has to work that much harder to remove toxins from the body! Studies have shown that carriers of a MTHFR gene variance have a higher risk of developing hypothyroidism if left unmanaged. Conversely, if you have a sluggish thyroid and a normally robust MTHFR pathway, the sluggish thyroid will eventually affect the MTHFR (methylation pathway) that is needed to clear toxins (and fighting inflammation) efficiently from the body.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽStrive to live as medication free as possible. While it may not always be possible, make it a goal to aim for. Youโ€™ll never succeed in something if you donโ€™t create a plan and work towards a goal!
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽThyroids love exercise! Incorporate an appropriate exercise routine into your daily habits.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽRemove all possible sources of fluoride and chlorine saboteurs from your world. Check your local water source for fluoride content and filter your water. Remember that Thieves Toothpaste and Mouthwash is your thyroidโ€™s friend!
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽAddress Autoimmune Diseases holistically and reduce chronic systemic inflammation in the process.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽChronic stress is among the gang of enemies hellbent on destroying the thyroid. Protect your thyroid as you would a small child๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€ฆโ€ฆ seriously. Use your skills weโ€™ve talked about and work on improving your stress quotient.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽProtect your Gallbladder! Recall the synergy between those two unlikely organs. If youโ€™ve lost yours, make sure you are supplementing with digestive enzymes such as EssentialZyme or EssentialZymes-4 to help break down the fats needed to assist in the conversion of inactive T4 to active T3.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽSleep! 7-9 hours a night to allow the body to reset and heal.
Use supportive essential oils: YL Endoflex, Brain Power, and Clarity blends all have properties which are beneficial thyroid health as does Spearmint, Ledum, Myrtle, Peppermint, and Myrrh.
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽAshwaghandha: Although not a nutrient, it is an adaptogenic herb that has strong scientific credibility as a supportive measure for thyroid function. This herb is found in EndoGize and PowerGize.
ย
Supporting and managing thyroid health isnโ€™t just for those with altered thyroid function. Itโ€™s for everyone. We protect what we love, right? We are each a work in progress, and our work is never done because our personal lifeโ€™s circumstances change daily. We tend to live in one of two ways. God has given us free will to choose throughout our lives, and we can choose to actively live or passively die. Iโ€™ve known people who (even despite dying) chose to proactively live. Itโ€™s a beautiful thing to see, and their lives have glorified God. Our body is a temple created to serve and worship Him. Treat yourself as though you are a precious gift๐ŸŽ worth fighting for.
