Seeds of Thyme Answers About Frankincense

Liz James · October 10, 2023 ·

Good word from Seeds of Thyme 🌿. My two all-time personal favorite ways to use Frankincense are:
❤️ as an ingredient in my easy-peasy DIY face serum
and
❤️ as an ingredient in the most miraculous DIY “pain bomb” capsule
(ok, 3 ways!😉)
❤️ as an ingredient in my easy peasy all purpose nasal spray. (I’ve probably gifted a couple hundred of these bottles of amazingness over the last 10 years and taught hundreds more how to make them).
God-given goodness 🙌🙌.

what is frankincense?

May Day Young Living Gifts

Liz James · May 1, 2023 ·

When I was little we celebrated May Day! (Did anyone else do this?) We would make little handmade baskets out of paper and milk cartons, and then fill them up with candy and flowers and go hang them on the doors of older people and people who might be lonely (we would ring the doorbell and then run off and hide and watch them be surprised by their little gift).

This month’s Young Living gift with purchase is kinda like that! I LOVE LOVE LOVE when they gift us supplements or other products we maybe have never tried. About 9 years ago, they gifted a bottle of Sulfurzyme as part of the Monthly Freebies…… and it changed MY life (and health trajectory for my bladder…. among other points of inflammation in my body).

Don’t miss out on those free Loyalty Rewards Points (10…. just for placing an LR order! Remember points = cash for products you already use and buy anyway!)
Citronella…… I keep a bottle of Citronella in the Laundry room (I use it on my dryer balls in the summer…. it is a fresh scent, and it helps keep the mosquitoes and biting bugs away….. if you have an outdoor kitchen or spend a lot of time on the patio… put a diffuser out there. It’s WAY healthier than the toxic chemicals that are used to do the same thing. Citronella is known to repel spiders, gnats, fleas, and mosquitoes. A great recipe for naturally repelling pests from your garden plants…. ( 1 tsp castile soap, 10 drops peppermint, 10 drops rosemary, 10 drops citronella, 10 drops lemongrass, and water in a 16 oz spray bottle. Mist the leaves and stem of the plant🌿 every 5-7 days)

DiGize….. Such an important oil blend for keeping the digestive system happy. For many people, DiGize was the “aha” moment that essential oils are a valuable tool and should never be left out of a first aid kit. If indigestion is a “thing” for you, try a little dab in your belly button 😉. Can I see a show of hands on those who have back walked out of some 😵🤢🥴moments thanks to this blend?

Detoxzyme is a fantastic companion to DiGize. Sooooooo many people don’t understand that their digestive woes are often partially the result of insufficient digestive enzymes. Such an easy fix! Detoxzyme is helpful in the digestive process, and it’s formulated to be extra helpful if you are interested in improving your elimination of toxins. It can be taken regularly to assist in the process. PRO Tip: Before going to bed, load up on Detoxzyme…. the liver is most active at night, and you’ll drop more toxins laden 💩 in the toilet the next day!

Rose Ointment…… I’ve heard so many beautiful skin-healing stories about this helpful tool! It is deeply soothing for dry, irritated skin. I’m sure you’ll find it one you reach for as part of your skin TLC toolbox!

Have a great day friends! Which gift are you most excited about?
xoxo~ liz

March Young Living Freebies

Liz James · March 1, 2023 ·

Happy March 1st friends! I love waking up on the first of each month and taking a peek at our gifts with purchase each month. It’s a little like Christmas 12 times a year! 😍The YL gift pickers always do such a great job of reflecting the season with what they gift us.

Springtime typically means ALOT more outdoor activities, and that Golden Turmeric will come in very handy for sore muscles and joints. We have a decent sized garden and blackberry vineyard (which means hours and hours of manual labor…. we garden the YL way…. pulling weeds by hand 👩‍🔧👨‍🔧…. no toxic chemicals here!) Danette Goodyear taught me a little trick a few years back….. I flavor my yogurt with it….. yummy!

I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love Lushious Lemon essential oil blend. It is, quite simply, fresh and happy! It’s a great year round diffused oil choice…. it will make everyone happy (literally! You just can’t be grumpy with that aroma in the air 😉)

March Texas weather is erratic ☀️🌬⛈❄️🌤 (to say the least!), and the Steeped Vitality Orange Rose Hip Black Tea is a nice morning ritual for me, especially on the cold mornings we’re still having randomly. I’m almost out, and I love that they must have checked my pantry supply before they made their gift with purchase list 🤪! Tea leaves are one of the most chemically processed natural drinks we expose ourselves to (coffee beans too)….. which is why it’s so important to drink organically. We can rest assured that YL teas (Slique Tea is another favorite of mine) are clean alternatives to what is out there.

And seriously…. they must have known. I’m down to about an 1/8 of a bottle of the BALANCE Face Cleanser, and that was something I was going to add to my YL order this month… I was thinking about this when I was in the shower this morning. Now I can use that money to order something else I need, and still get the BALANCE for free! ( BTW, I am LOVING the Bloom essential oil blend as a face serum before putting makeup on. It was free last month… is anyone else using it and loving it too? )

And finally….. those 10 Loyalty Reward Points (when you place a 100PV Loyalty Rewards order)….. Points = product = money saved for something else. If you aren’t utilizing the Loyalty Rewards program, you are missing out on one of the most economical ways to get what you need.

What’s your gifted fave this month?
xoxo~ liz

February 2023 Free from Young Living

Liz James · February 1, 2023 ·

FEBRUARY IS HERE YA’LL! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? FEBRUARY WRAPS UP THE TIME OF YEAR WHEN OUR BODIES ARE CRAVING “REST AND REFRESH” TIME.
(Total sidebar factoid🤓: yes, we’re all seeing and hearing and perhaps paying high prices for “rare” chicken eggs right now. Who knows exactly “why” this is going on this particular year 🧐(hang on while I adjust my well-worn tinfoil hat), but winter months ARE common for chickens to rest and rejuvenate their oviducts. God made them that way so that they can lead long productive lives. He did the same for us too…… embrace this last month of hibernation and take care of yourself!)

Young Living is kindly giving us tools for free (with a qualifying purchase) this month to help us rest and restore alligator winter skin and eyes that may have been spending too much time in front of a screen.

I don’t know of another company that will give someone $190.00+ worth of product for free when spending 300+$, (or $96 for spending $190+), and yet YL does…. every single month. 🥰

Lushious Lemon is one of my all-time favorite Young Living essential oil blends. I don’t know of a single person who doesn’t LOVE this aroma. This month we’re getting the Lushious Lemon Hand Lotion as part of our gift with purchase. YL never creates a product without a healthy purpose, and not only does the hand lotion nourish skin, the aroma just makes a person happy! (If you’re feeling grumpy or perhaps have a grumpy family member, you’ll never go wrong by diffusing the situation with a few drops of Lushious Lemon EO in your diffuser 😉)

If you aren’t yet utilizing the Loyalty Rewards opportunity (more free products and points to accumulate and use for purchasing MORE free products of your choosing), consider the benefits! You can learn more about how Loyalty Rewards works here: https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/learn/loyalty-rewards

Loyalty Rewards orders also have the opportunity this month to receive 10 extra points (=free product) and the BLOOM YL essential oil blend. BLOOM can be used topically or diffused. It is a beautiful addition to skin care ( a combo of Vetiver, Blue Cypress, Davana, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Clove, Jasmine, Carrot seed, Spearmint, Geranium, and Sacred Frank). During your hibernation time, do a little pubmed.gov 🤓digging on each one of these, and you find out exactly why (purpose) BLOOM was created 😍.

I’m especially excited that we’re getting IlluminEYES for free this month, as it’s something I’ve recently added to my daily regimen. Too much screen time is definitely taking a toll on my eyes, as well as normal aging…… and I’ve got a strong genetic predisposition to macular degeneration (and my eyeballs aren’t getting any younger🤪). It’s much easier to be proactive than to try to reverse an active degenerative state in the body, so here I am…. give me all the eye health tips! I’m already wearing blue blocker glasses when in front of the computer, I use beneficial essential oils around the bony orbits of my eyes and drink NingXia Red daily. Our eyes need the proper support tools to function well, and IlluminEYES supports eye health. In addition to eye-happy vitamins, you’ll notice that IlluminEYES has Wolfberry fruit powder, Marigold Flower Extract, and Acerola cherry extract. Do some digging friends…. God gave us so much protection and healing directly from the garden.

Coconut Lime Replenishing Body Butter is another one of my favorites! My dry winter legs soak this creamy body butter in, and it literally smells like I just stepped into somewhere tropical, warm, and happy⛱🏝☀️! You won’t be disappointed, and neither will your skin!

Embrace this final month of hibernation! I know your body is appreciating the tools and recovery time you’re spending so you can be at your very best come springtime!

xoxo~ liz

Dry Skin Solutions

Liz James · January 10, 2023 ·

Dry skin is something so many of us struggle with in the winter months. We slather on lotions and creams and it can seem like a constant battle. Dry skin does tend to get worse in the winter because our bodies don’t seem to crave water as much and drinks like coffee or hot chocolate (or soda) don’t solve the problem. It’s us to up to be the watchdog and caregiver of ourselves!
Other signs of winter dehydration:
  1. Dark colored urine (it should be light colored to clear)
  2. Sweating or finding you don’t need to visit the bathroom as often.
  3. fatigue (very common symptom of dehydration!)
  4. Dry mouth
  5. Headaches
  6. Sugar cravings (dehydration makes it harder to break down glycogen which releases glucose/energy to the bloodstream. This leads to craving sweet treats)
Unless you have a medical condition, be sure to drink at least half your body weight in fluid ounces daily (ex: 200lb person will need to drink 100 oz of water daily). If drinking plain water isn’t your jam, add in the YL Vitality Drops (electrolytes) for a tasty alternative! (available as Lavender Lemonade or Bergamot Grapefruit).
