Personal Reflections

Christmas Bells

Liz James · December 9, 2020 ·

I’ve been diving in to the history behind some of our well known “vintage” Christmas carols this December. Some of you may have seen them in my FB stories. (I’m doing my best to highlight one per day). 🎄 It’s been so interesting and I’ve gained a much greater appreciation for songs and their backstage stories.
Today’s archeological dig was especially compelling because it seems like it could have been written this year, and I wanted to share.
🎶” I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” 🎶was written as a poem in the middle of our country’s Civil War in 1863 by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
His wife of 18 years had just passed away unexpectedly, and his son had gone to fight for the freedom of all men to parts unknown. Longfellow was notified by telegram on December 1st,  that his son was seriously wounded at a battle during the Mine Run Campaign. He was emotionally devastated by both events and the stress of everyday life during war time.
Yet in his deepest despair, he retained his devout faith in Christ.
As I read thru the verses of the original song (some of the modern versions have been altered), I was struck by these two in particular:
🎶’And in despair I bowed my head;
“There’s no peace on earth,” I said;
“For hate is strong,
and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men!”
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.”🎶
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of the dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
God’s not dead friends. He’s very much alive and He corrects injustices in His own timing. Keep the faith. Goodness and loving kindness will ultimately prevail. ❤️🇺🇸🙏
I’ll forever see this Christmas carol in a different way. May the peace that passes all understanding be with you today!

40 Dandelions

Liz James · November 11, 2020 ·

Have you had a chance to flip thru the first issue of 40 Dandelions?
“Holistic healthy” doesn’t separate body from mind or spirit. It’s one of the reasons my business plan is in the form of a prayer rather than an accounting spreadsheet. #Godwillprovide

Empowering Others

Liz James · November 6, 2020 ·

 I met and spent a great deal of time with Jackie Skinner YL last fall at Platinum Retreat in Ecuador. Jackie is incredibly passionate and has worked so terribly hard this year as the director of the Young Living Foundation. She is a gem and a good friend to Charlie and I.

Good things are being done behind the scenes as we make our monthly orders. Please ALWAYS round up on your orders (it will never cost you more than 99 cents max!). Young Living is focused on empowerment… both for its members and for those who need a hand up. 💖💖

How are we empowered by YL?  Let’s talk about that!
💪When was the last time you were able to “fix something” thanks to your oils or supplements, thereby avoiding a trip to the pharmacy or doctor?
💪Have you received a paycheck (big 💰💰 or small💰!) from Young Living? That’s empowering in itself….. you are funding your personal “wellcare” routine, been able to add a few hundred dollars a month to the family budget……. or maybe even been able to completely change the trajectory of your future!
Happy Friday friends…. pay it forward. We are blessed indeed!
xoxo~liz

Tools for Bad Health

Liz James · October 16, 2020 ·

There will never be a single tool to maintain and improve health, just like you wouldn’t use a screwdriver when you really need a hammer. I stretch regularly, use my Young Living essential oils, Dolphin MPS myself when I can…. but occasionally, I can still feel when I’m out of alignment…. and when that happens, it’s not just a structural snafu…. nerves can be pinched, and organs can start malfunctioning. Not coincidentally, the longer I felt my neck out of whack, congestion had started developing in my head and throat.😕
Yesterday, I made time to get adjusted by my chiropractor (thank you Newmyer Chiro in McKinney!) and could literally feel the congestion fade away once my neck and shoulders were back where they were supposed to be.
I tend to carry stress (and 50lb bags of animal feed!) on my shoulders, so it’s no surprise.
I feel much more balanced and healthier this morning!
What’s an “out of the box” tool you use with great results?
