Skip The Nitrates, Not The Ham

Liz James · December 20, 2024 ·

Good morning friends! If a Christmas ham is on your menu this coming week, be sure to buy a variety that does not contain chemicals (specifically nitrates). Sodium nitrate reacts with the acid in a person’s stomach to form nitrosamines- one of the most cancer causing agents known (esophageal, liver, stomach, kidney, pancreatic, colorectal, and others). Regular consumption of nitrates may also increase the risk of type II diabetes (think sliced deli sandwich meats, hot dogs etc)
Β
Interestingly, there have been over 1400 medication recalls in the last several years because of nitrosamine formation that has occurred during the production process of medications in some batches of medication (eg: metformin, ranitidine, losartan, valsartan, and other ARB’s are some of the more common ones). The FDA says nitrosamines are safe in small doses, but I am more of the mindset that if you know something is cancer causing, isn’t it best just to avoid it as best as you can? Small doses add up if you are taking them daily! (and it’s just one more reason to work to avoid medications whenever possible and use botanicals or holistic/ alternative methods of healing whenever possible πŸ™)
Β
If finding a local pasture raised ham isn’t feasible, here are some brands that are Nitrate free:
Naked Bacon
Applegate
Boar’s Head
Jones Dairy Farm
Wellshire Farms
Happy Friday!

Codie-lyn’s Story, A BBHB Testimony

Liz James · December 12, 2024 ·

Warning:
I’m ready to talk about my really bad week. If you are squeamish or a guy you may just want to keep on scrolling past this, trust me. If you are a lady you might want to pay attention.
There is a disparity when it comes to women’s health in our country. There is still so much we don’t know. Be prepared to advocate for yourself.
Also, if you are faced with needing blood there are options for getting blood that is free of mRNA vaccinations. See the comments for a flyer.

How To Get Your Greens

Liz James · December 11, 2024 ·

An estimated 69% of adults in the USA fall short of eating adequate amounts of “greens” and the consequences of consuming inadequate phytonutrients chronically has a direct impact on long term health and Vitality. Research has shown that chemicals in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, and kale are protective of DNA, inhibit “wild” cell proliferation, and support the “arrest” of some wayward types of cells.
BTW, an estimated 78% of adults in the USA also fall short of eating adequate amounts of “reds” in the fruit and veggie world too (which helps the body in some pretty amazing ways!)
NingXia Greens (which is loaded in all kinds of greens including kale, broccoli, and cabbageπŸ˜‰)mixed with NingXia Red is a daily staple in our house ….. if you aren’t getting the greens and reds in your daily diet, this is an easy way to get it done!
Our daily drink “recipe”
About 3 oz of water
1 scoop collagen
1 scoop NingXia Greens
Mix well
Add in NingXia Red
Top off with either a Zyng or Spindrift for a little added bubbly
Enjoy!!
How do you get your adequate greens and reds in daily?
