Our Mission – my Dad

Liz James · October 11, 2024 ·

October 5th, 1960….64 years ago to the week…. my dad was a new graduate of the US Naval Academy and aboard the Frank E Evans Destroyer somewhere in the ocean. He wrote this…. what was to be the prayer of the day for the ship.
Wow. How true his words were then and are now, even more than ever. Only 24 more days until we see which way our nation will swing. I am praying that what my Dad fought for we will still be able to uphold for our country.
“Make us worthy of our mission, make us loyal to thee O God, and make us good men (and women) with stout hearts worthy of these goals.” πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ I’m trying Dad, and I know so many others are too.

Cozy Fall Vibes from Young Living

Liz James · August 14, 2024 ·

Around about this time of year, I get sneakyπŸ€ͺ and start diffusing Autumn scentsπŸ‚πŸ in an effort to trick my body into thinking it’s not 103 degrees outside. A tiny part of me secretly hopes that diffusing the crazy good Fall spice blends will coax Autumn into existence. (I know…. it’s early…. especially in Texas…. but a girl can dream! πŸ™ƒ ) .

Leave the endocrine disruptors☠️ behind this Fall and scent your home naturally! ( If you’d like to learn more about how this actually works, let’s talk about it!)

Cozy Fall Vibe Fall Bundle is a limited engagement / while supplies last thing, and a great opportunity to reset your home in a healthy, clean immune supportive way! https://bit.ly/FallVibes24

Young Living Convention News #1

Liz James · July 18, 2024 ·

Young Living’s 30th anniversary Convention is off to a beautiful start! It’s sooooo good to hug friends’ necks….. most of whom I would have never met had it not been for Young Living… far and wide (including Australia, Belgium, Mexico, Malaysia). In the last few days, I have probably given and received a hundred hugs (no exaggeration there❀️) from friends I get to connect with every year. It’s family reunion timeπŸ™, and such a blessing to share laughter and tears too.
In the last two days, Terry and I have spent sharing about BlessedByHisBlood and releasing my new book, Volume II of Becoming Your Own Health Detective. πŸ™ŒπŸ“šπŸ”Ž….. yes!!!! It finally made it into finished form, and can be ordered here: Becoming Your Own Health Detective Volume II: Helpful hints for finding answers https://a.co/d/bYyBGZt !!
More pics to come. Are you here too? Let’s find each other and hug! xoxo~ liz

Happy Healthy Cupcakes

Liz James · May 8, 2024 ·

How about a lightly sweetened, healthier version of carrot cake for your next cupcake-making day!
Have you ever baked with einkorn flour? You might never go back to modern flour…. it’s got a richer flavor AND it contains far more vitamins and minerals and waaaaaaaaay less gluten than modern wheat flour. Bonus points: 4 grams of protein in einkorn flour per serving πŸ’ͺ and non-GMO!
(Einkorn Flour can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/YLeinkornflour )
Classic Carrot Cake
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 cups einkorn flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1-2 drops of YL Cinnamon vitality oil (or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon)
1-2 drops of YL Ginger vitality oil (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
1/2 cup raisins
2 cups grated carrots (about 3-4 large carrots)
2 large eggs
3/4 cup coconut sugar (you can sub brown sugar too)
1/2 cup nuts (pecans, walnuts or almonds ) finely chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Sift together einkorn flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ginger in a medium bowl.
In a blender, combine the oil, raisins, and only 1 cup of the grated carrots. Puree until carrots and raisins are finely chopped.
In a larger bowl, add eggs and beat on medium for 1 minute. Add in sugar and beat for 3 minutes (until batter is light and fluffy).
Fold half the flour mixture into the egg/sugar mixture and when it’s almost completely absorbed, fold in half of the oil/raisin/carrot combo. Repeat.
Now, fold in the remaining 1 cup of carrot gratings in 2 batches. Fold in the nuts and then pour the batter into your muffin papers.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tip of a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry. (Note: if you decide to make a carrot cake, be sure to grease and flour your pan beforehand, line the bottom with parchment paper, and bake for 55-60 min!)
Now…. for the icing!
3 TABLESPOONSFUL butter, room temp
1 cup full fat cream cheese
4 TBS pure (real deal!) maple syrup
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/4 tsp fine sea salt
a squeeze of lemon or orange juice (and for more flavor, add a couple drops of either the YL Vitality Lemon or Orange essential oil)
Beat butter and cream cheese on medium-high for about 2 minutes or until smooth.
add in maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and lemon or orange juice. Beat for about 4 minutes…. until light and fluffy.
if needed, chill for about 10 minutes to slightly stiffen into a spreadable consistency.
Enjoy with friends! πŸ’–

Earth Day Health Tips

Liz James · April 22, 2024 ·

Happy 🌎Day friends! We are interconnected with our environment, and our environment has an enormous (90% + ) impact on our health.
Yep. Our individual genetic makeup only plays a 10-ish% part in your health. The vast majority of dangerous genes can stay turned off by how we choose our environment. This includes the words we say to ourselves, our emotions, how we receive words said over us, what we put in our bodies, what we put on our bodies, and how connected we are to the environment that Elohim (one of the many names of God, which in Hebrew means “creator”) made for us. Just as He wants us to remain connected to Him, He also wants us to remain connected to the earth He created. Separation from either one will ALWAYS contribute to health problems.
Here’s a short video by Dr. Laura Koniver MD about grounding and how it affects your body.
Hugs and love! (Now, go hug a tree🌳 today! ) ~ liz
