Masks

Liz James · April 23, 2020 ·

Well, today’s foray into an interesting tidbit of medical history got sidelined by The Great Mask Debate 😷. I’ve been in SMH mode since I first heard various heads of “Important Organizations and World Leadership” speak with great concern about the virulence of the virus at hand, and the ensuing discussions of all manner of masks. Wait 30 minutes and information (and opinions) will change.

Keeping up is like trying to catch a greased pig 🐷 quickly.

Impossible.😉

One thing that has stayed the same tho, is this topic of masks. And interestingly, “they” seem to be promoting masks even more vociferously the further we get into Mask Mania 2020.

Regardless of whether you are pro mask or anti mask, the following information should be helpful. …… because ACCURATE information certainly seems to be in short supply.

The following points to ponder upon are not my opinion. They are facts:

😷1. Let’s start first with the assumption that ANY mask or face covering is better than no mask at all.

This is patently not true, and I find it vexing that people with some semblance of authority would even suggest this. Nonetheless… I shall be referring to both the WHO’s (World Health Organization) and the CDC’s (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) own literature as I explore this topic.

Cloth made masks or scarves may keep dog hair, pollen, or bugs from flying into your mouth and nose, but they will do nary a thing to keep said virus (or bacteria)  out of your personal ecosystem.

In addition… REUSE of a used cloth mask with its poor filtration may actually contribute to infection…. ESPECIALLY if you are already harboring lungs that have been compromised. (think COPD, asthma, emphysema, etc)

Here is a study if you’d like confirmation of the above information:

government article

😷 2. Secondly, according to the WHO website, “using a mask incorrectly may hamper its effectiveness in reducing the risk of transmission”.

The WHO website also clearly states this:

Community Setting/ Individual WITHOUT respiratory symptoms should heed the following “a medical mask is NOT required, as no evidence is available on its usefulness to protect non-sick persons. “

Whereas…. “Individuals WITH respiratory symptoms should: – wear a medical mask and seek medical care if experiencing fever, cough and difficulty breathing, as soon as possible or in accordance with to local protocols”

Seems pretty black and white to me (according to the WHO website…. not me).
Sick= wear mask 😷
Not Sick= don’t wear mask

#OfficialwordaccordingtoWHO
… but don’t believe me, please, do read for yourself.

who on masks

😷 3. What about other masks? Glad you asked! There IS a difference between mask types AND there’s actually a hot market for them right now in case you hadn’t noticed.

✅ N95 Masks are considered the industry standard in blocking particles. They block particles over 0.03 microns. Said virus has been found to be as small as .02 microns, and according to this website, the N95 mask will work for about 95% of the virus particles PROVIDED the mask size fits the face properly, facial hair has been removed, and other considerations have been taken.

Please don’t rely on me for this information…. Here is the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation’s (APSF) information:

apsf.org

Not all masks are N95. Surgical masks, as a rule, are not, unless indicated as such. If they are not labeled as N95, the ability to shield oneself from the virus has gone down considerably.

Because N95 masks are a hot commodity, so are (unfortunately) scam artists who make fake ones. Be wary from who and where you buy N95 masks.

Here is information on how to identify a true approved N95 mask: https://www.cdc.gov/…/npptl/usernotices/counterfeitResp.html

cdc article

Additionally, according to the CDC website, “Used respirators (N95 masks) are considered contaminated and ideally should be discarded after each patient encounter. A user should never touch the contaminated front of the respirator with his or her bare hands. Hands should always be washed after donning and doffing the respirator. “

cdc on used respirators

😷 4. Wearing a used and contaminated face mask (paper or cloth) for long periods of time on a daily basis actually INCREASES the risk of infection TO THE WEARER. Additionally, the longer the same mask has been worn around others, the more concentrated the infectious load becomes.

Add in high warm moisture content, and lower oxygen intake (A mask wearer actually does breathe in less oxygen and more carbon dioxide than a maskless person, especially if worn for extended periods of time), the stress of wearing a mask for extended periods of time (not to mention the said pathogen load now living in your mask)….. and well….. all of these are lovely amenities if you are looking to acquire a truly happy colony of ill mannered bacteria (or virus) to call your very own.

(Even the CDC website has this to say about reusing masks that have not been properly decontaminated: “Used respirators are considered contaminated and ideally should be discarded after each patient encounter.” Please refer again to the CDC website linked above)

Something about all of this seems counterintuitive to what’s going on in real life……. or is it just me?

😷 5. Finally…. What about disposing of your used masks? Please discard them properly…. Do not leave them in your buggy, or the parking lot of the shopping establishment. That is just wrong. Used masks, as you have just learned, have a buildup of potentially infectious particulates that could include viruses or other pathogens, and if left around willy-nilly could actually give somebody something…. Which is what we are ALL trying not to do.

Really…. wouldn’t it just be easier to work on supporting your immune system? Not just now, but always?

Stay well. Be kind. Operate in truth. 😘

Spring Launch

Liz James · April 6, 2020 ·

Where are my Young Living friends?
Right about now, we need happy things… and the smell of lemon🍋 does indeed give nearly everyone an additional pep in their step! Could it be the limonene and its scientifically proven beneficial effects on serotonin and dopamine levels in key regions of the brain that are associated with anxiety and depression?…. or maybe it will just make it a little more fun to wash your hands for the gazzillionth time during #alonetogether2020.
Either way, I’m a sucker for quality tea, and am super excited by these new additions to our Young Living family!
Cuppa tea anyone?☕

EMF & 5G

Liz James · March 31, 2020 ·

Hey friends! I had a great conversation with many of my personal friends today and decided to upload the convo over here. It’s really about EMF and 5G….. but it’s also a bit about the current virus situation too, and how EMF and 5G might be playing a part in it.
If you are someone who likes to put all the pieces together, you may find this information really interesting.

#8 – Viruses 101

Liz James · March 24, 2020 ·

Post #8: Viruses 101…… What we Know to be True about Viruses (aka…. the care and feeding of a virus).

Here we are, a little further into this situation and it certainly doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. Like (hopefully) all of you, I’m willing to do what I can to help prevent the spread of the “invisible enemy” as I’ve recently heard this particular virus called.

So onward… ( Please refer to Posts, #5-7 for Action Points #’s 1-5). Let’s consider a few more tools in the toolbox for creating an inhospitable environment for viruses….

Plan of Action #6 : L-Lysine: it’s a foundational amino acid we need in our body. Viruses have difficulty thriving when we have enough of this on board. Really… anyone who struggles with any sort of viral related dysfunction probably needs extra supplementation but to have a healthy immune response on the daily…. Consider 500mg /day.

Plan of Action #7: Nano Silver – Colloidal Silver. CS definitely has a place in my tool box!
(Remember, everything deals in electricity). Silver is constantly on the prowl for a single electron. Pathogens have simple cell walls with single electrons, stealing the electron ruptures the cell membrane. Healthy cells have a lipid bilayer, so are not harmed. Here are a couple other colloidal silver tips:
👉Suggested immune support is 1 tsp twice a day.
👉 CS functions better if the body is alkaline.
👉CS functions better in the presence of antioxidants (think glutathione, Sulfurzyme, and NingXia Red) *antioxidants help ditch the die off toxins faster too.
👉AVOID IONIC silver (that is what can turn you blue)Colloidal is safe if it’s manufactured using the right electrical current (otherwise it can become ionic)
👉”Structured” CS — safest and most effective at creating an inhospitable environment for pathogens.

Plan of Action #8: Viruses don’t like sunlight… spend time outdoor! (UV radiation is effective in killing off most viruses on surfaces) Bonus points for also getting some natural Vitamin D in the process! (You guessed it… viruses don’t like healthy vitamin D levels in a body either, so I STRONGLY suggest supplementing! I personally take 50,000iu per week. )

ncbi.nim.nih.gov article

Plan of Action #9: Viruses appear to like cooler temps and low humidity (no wonder they are more prevalent in the winter!) They survive on surfaces for a shorter amount of time at temps greater than 68 degrees, and when humidity is over 50%. I’m hopeful that as spring temps rise it will help the situation considerably!

Plan of Action #10: Viruses like sleep deprived people (because immune systems become impaired). Ya’ll, pray for the health care workers as they work on few hours of sleep in an incredibly stressful situation. And do your civic duty to get more sleep yourself (thereby boosting your immune system). If you struggle in this area, please feel free to PM me, and I will be happy to walk you thru some sleep tips and tricks. 😘

Plan of Action #11 There does appear to be a connection between EMF/ 5G and Viral infection.
**** In my opinion, this is the most important tip at all***…and for some of you…. it might seem far fetched. But I ask you…IS IT WORTH THE RISK?

5G is the accelerated cell phone radio frequency that all the big name telcom companies have been advertising, and IT.IS.NOT.SAFE.

I am concerned that it may be at the root of the virus activity.

Chronic exposure to 5G prevents the binding of oxygen to hemoglobin. 😳What happens when that happens in the body? Oxygen deprivation occurs…. and leaves us gasping for air… kinda like someone who might have a dry version of pneumonia. #soundfamiliar?

Chronic exposure to 5G also Increases cellular permeability to viruses. Well…… that can’t be good!

Chronic exposure to 5G also increases the permeability of the blood brain barrier. Again…. I’m thinking that can’t be a good thing either.

Wuhan China was the first city in the world to be completely blanketed by 5G…. and that happened shortly before everyone started getting so sick. I’ve noticed (check the coverage maps of the various telcom carriers) that the areas that have heavy 5G here in the USA coincidentally are also epicenters of this illness.  I do not understand why this possibility is not being explored or discussed on the news…..

Is it worth it to ignore these facts? #Idontthinkso

Your cell phone is a receiving device. Please don’t sleep with it (or your laptop or pad) in your bedroom.

Leave it on airiplane mode when you are carrying it next to your body ESPECIALLY when in a 5G heavy environment.

Those ear buds you might be using….. they are receiving the radio frequency directly into your brain. I know they are expensive, but ditch them and get a wired set. Here is a reputable brand on Amazon:

emf free headphones

Please get some sort of radiation blocker device or sleeve for your phone. There are many on the market. I have chosen to purchase from this company because it was recommended by someone in the healthcare industry that I trust. Not all brands work the same.

safe connect plus website

OK… that’s it for now. Everybody stay safe and I hope ya’ll are finding a little time to rest, relax, and reset during this downtime. And if you are an essential worker (as am I!)… you are in my prayers friend!

#4 Corona Virus 101

Liz James · March 12, 2020 ·

Post #4 Corona Virus 101….. Diagnostics

Last night our President declared corona virus a national emergency here in the USA. He also declared that a very small population overall appears to be at high risk. If you are generally a healthy person, that lowers your risk category considerably. (Either way, please refer to Post #3/ Demographics in this series if you aren’t sure.)

If you develop flu like symptoms while we are under the umbrella of this declaration, it is prudent to continue to examine the facts:

Fact #1: It’s still cold and flu season throughout the United States (and probably the world), and symptoms of a cold, flu, or corona virus are all very similar. Additionally, depending on your overall health status, all illnesses may not look the same…. mild cases of all 3 may not even have much of a fever, while severe cases could technically settle into secondary bacterial infections in some people.

Fact #2: Right now, testing is still sketchy. Some people have been tested as many as 6 times before testing positive. Testing kits from the CDC are faulty according to reports… with a 50% accuracy rate.

Additionally, I’ve read that mutations of the original virus have already occurred at least once (common with viruses), so my personal confidence level in testing will likely remain low throughout this situation.

Fact #3: If you are “kinda sick” but don’t feel awful…. but that inner fear is driving you to want to know…. do I have “IT”?……. is it worth it to go to a dr’s office and sit in a germ infested waiting room where you might actually catch something worse than what you have? …. all to receive a test that may not yield accurate results? #rememberwhatcuriositydidtothecat

You do you of course, but my gut tells me, this would not be in my plans for personal care. 😉

Fact #4: Let’s just say you DO have “IT”, but don’t feel much differently than if you had a cold… and THEN, you go to the dr’s office to get tested and you, my friend, become the vector and spreader of germs to someone who quite possibly has an existing immunocompromised situation. …… all to receive a test that, again…. may or may not yield accurate results.

Be kind to others. Please keep your germs to yourself.

Fact #5: Mild illness is not the same as serious illness, and only you know your body and when your symptoms would constitute seeking medical attention. By all means…. go. Be kind tho to others as you evaluate your decision and put your plan into action.

(Please refer to my disclaimer below…. you do you.)

Fact #6: Certain masks are marginally helpful in preventing the spread of this virus. The N95 respirator masks are hard to come by these days, but are the only ones being recommended by the CDC. They filter particles down to .03 microns. (One of the “gain in functionality” issues of the corona virus is its particle size…. which has been found to be anywhere from .05-.02… smaller than what this type of mask is capable of filtering).

Keeping your hands clean, washed, and away from your nose, mouth, and eyes, is really your best option… as well as utilizing an immune boosting lifestyle, which starts with what you put into and on your body on a daily basis (please refer to Post #3 for basic lifestyle tips).

Tomorrow (or perhaps even late tonight if I have time), I’ll unpack what we know to be true about viruses and how to create an inhospitable environment for them. I’m spending today working at the pharmacy…. without a mask.
