How To Get Your Greens

An estimated 69% of adults in the USA fall short of eating adequate amounts of “greens” and the consequences of consuming inadequate phytonutrients chronically has a direct impact on long term health and Vitality. Research has shown that chemicals in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, and kale are protective of DNA, inhibit “wild” cell proliferation, and support the “arrest” of some wayward types of cells.
BTW, an estimated 78% of adults in the USA also fall short of eating adequate amounts of “reds” in the fruit and veggie world too (which helps the body in some pretty amazing ways!)
NingXia Greens (which is loaded in all kinds of greens including kale, broccoli, and cabbageπŸ˜‰)mixed with NingXia Red is a daily staple in our house ….. if you aren’t getting the greens and reds in your daily diet, this is an easy way to get it done!
Our daily drink “recipe”
About 3 oz of water
1 scoop collagen
1 scoop NingXia Greens
Mix well
Add in NingXia Red
Top off with either a Zyng or Spindrift for a little added bubbly

One of the most important parts of the health equation is sleep. As you are learning to navigate your individual health journey in the 14 Day Reset community, do not underestimate the importance of 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night! If this is a struggle bus 🚌 topic for you, you are not alone.
Roughly 70 million adults in the USA experience sleep disorders, and 45% of Americans claim that poor sleep makes a negative impact on their daily life at least once a week. If you are an employer or are self employed, consider this…… insomnia costs the workplace an estimated $63.2 BILLION dollars a year 😬.
We all have someone in our immediate circle of β€œframily” who has been sorely affected by lack of sleep. If you struggle with losing weight efficiently and clearing toxin loads in the body, this might even pertain to you. Other effects of chronic sleep deprivation (anything less than 7 hrs falls into the deprivation category πŸ˜‰) include decreased mental aptitude and decision making, a lowering of resting metabolic rate, increased risk of anxiety, depression and irritability, increased inflammation, an increased toxin load in the brain, decreased immune system function, increased risk of cardiovascular disease, decreased insulin sensitivity (a marker for type II diabetes), and increased evening cortisol levels.

Big Pharma has some very popular solutions for sleep which frankly also come with interesting side effects. One of the most common prescription sleep meds contains a possible side effect profile including: insomnia, dependency/addiction, β€œsleep driving”, worsening of depression, dementia, panic attacks, gout, menstrual disorders and about 150 other potential side effects. While an equally popular over the counter pharma option touts some of these possible side effects: liver damage, vision problems, difficulty urinating, restlessness, dry mucosal membranes.
(Side note: as a pharmacist, I have seen all of these side effects mentioned happen to pharmacy clients over the years. They are more common than you would imagine.)
While it’s not ok to to not get enough quality sleep, it’s also not ok to acquire new “medicate-able” health problems 😳 while you’re trying to fix your poor sleep cycle! #ourhealthisacommodity
Thankfully, there are healthy options to remedy this situation, and it starts with good sleep hygiene. (We can choose to either be our own worst enemy or our own best friend!) Here are some ways to set yourself up for a good night’s sleep:
😴Stop screen time well before bedtime and keep electronics out of the bedroom
😴Get 10-20 minutes of full sunlight per day
😴Keep sleeping temperatures cool
😴Take an epsom salt bath before bed ( add in Lavender, Frankincense, Peace & Calming, Cedarwood, or Sandalwood) to the salts…. Or use them in the diffuser beside your bed!
😴Consider rigorous exercise earlier in the day, and use pre bed time for prayer, meditation, or gentle stretching exercises.
😴Stop eating 4-5 hours before bedtime.
😴Avoid artificial sweeteners (they can cause insomnia!)
😴Support a healthy night’s sleep with Young Living’s Immupro (chewable and contains melatonin) or Deep Night Essence (capsules loaded with sleepytime plant goodness!)

Young Living’s Free Gifts for July

Good morning friends! We are officially halfway through 2024…. can you believe it?? July’s gifts with purchase are perfect for our household because we use all three of these on a daily basis.
Freebies = I don’t have to buy them for the next few months! = Winning!!
All three of these… I’ve used each of them for years:
Lemongrass… 🌿this is a fantastic multipurpose oil. It is considered a “hot” oil, so do not use it on the skin without diluting it. I use it topically, internally, and diffused to support various body systems and body functions.
πŸ‘‰When I had a serious accident 9 years ago (and nearly lost my left foot), it was a key player in my topical “repair” blend to support healthy tendons (4 of which had been severed in the accident).
πŸ‘‰Biting bugs tend to dislike lemongrass. I take it internally and in doing so, I appear to be much less attractive to mosquitoes and other biters. (note that it took several days of taking internally before I became a walking diffuser for said bugs).
πŸ‘‰when taking internally, lemongrass is also helpful supporting healthy cholesterol and vascular health.
Stress Away……. One of my all time favorite and most used oils. Back when I was working as a retail pharmacist, this oil lived in my lab coat pocket and was used several times a day. There is science behind the oils in this bottle, and its regular use will help support a more comfortable autonomic nervous system balance (wouldn’t you rather live in a healthy balance of fight-flight freeze and rest relax and digest?…. our bodies are not designed to live in constant stress). Combine this oil with healthy self-care practices and you’ll notice the difference! ( And so will those around you πŸ˜‰. Pro Tip…. do you spend a great deal of time around someone who might need this oil?…… start putting it on yourself and become a walking diffuser for them. See if you don’t notice the difference!)
Super C Chewables….. If you are taking Vitamin C and the ingredient says “ascorbic acid”…. take note. Ascorbic acid is largely made from GMO’d corn and it is not as bioavailable as truly natural (ie: doesn’t require a laboratory) vitamin C sources such as acerola, camu camu, and rose hips…. all of which are in Super C Chewables). There’s additional synergy in these yummy chewables with the addition of citrus oils!

Good morning friends and happy June and happy summer fun!
Here’s the scoop 🍦on the freebie gifts with purchase for June:
Valor! I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love Valor…. this is a great oil year-round, but let’s talk about tips for summer use. Valor‘s blend was inspired by an actual blend used by Roman soldiers before battle. Think about that…. are there new adventures this summer that maybe you’re both excited and fearful about? (who is sending a kiddo off to college soon, or a kiddo to camp for the first time?) Make two roller bottles for whoever needs a little extra “I can do this!”
Northern Lights Black Spruce: One of my favorite places is deep in the woods, ideally camping ⛺️ with no one else around but us and the wild critters. That doesn’t happen much anymore (#farmlife), but my brain still feels the happy place any time I drop an evergreen fragrance into my diffuser. This is an extremely grounding oil, and if you need to mentally step away from the chaos on occasion, fire up that diffuser and enjoy a little NLBS!
Super B: Does the end of the day end before your “to do list” does πŸ₯΄πŸ₯±? I’m loving that Young Living is including supplements in their freebie lineup! Take advantage of Super B….. it supports adrenal function in a healthy way, and you’ll likely notice you’re more efficient at actually getting stuff done without feeling quite so exhausted πŸ’ͺ. NOTE: not all B vitamins are created equally……so many of the drug store variety are simply not fully useable by the body. Super B is not that way….. you’ll feel the difference!
