Plants as Medicine

Science Symposium at YL Convention

Liz James · August 11, 2025 ·

friends at Young Living Science Symposium
raffle samples at Young Living Science Symposium with Liz
samples from Young Living
We totally did not anticipate what we were going to get at the Science Symposium at YL Convention 2025. What a box of amazing goodness that we “may” πŸ‘€πŸ˜‰ be seeing more of later as a purchaseable product. Alicia and Kristine Lucius and I sure hope so, because every single sample is amazing!!!
Β
Inside the box was a QR code to scan…. and so I did. Answered a few questions about what I thought about the products and the symposium. (I was loving that they actually wanted feedback! 🀩)
Β
Perhaps a week later, I got an email asking if I’d like to participate in a trial for FOUR of these possible new products… a month supply of eachπŸ€―πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™…..well heck yeah!
Β
So, starting this morning, I’ve got 4 new products I’m trying. What a blessing!….3 of the 4 products were supplements I was already using from other sources. The flavor on all 4 are on point, and today, my workout did seem to have a little extra πŸ”₯ to it.
Β
It’s going to be fun being part of the product development process. Did anyone else scan the QR code in the box of goodies you received at Science Symposium?

Beating Illness Before It Beats You: How to Recover Fast with Natural Remedies

Liz James · January 29, 2025 ·

Yesterday was not a good day. By 5pm, I could tell that I had been hit with something bad. By 7pm, I had fever and chills and I ached all over… especially my head.
Tomorrow, I’m headed out of town for a conference in Georgia with Kim, and meeting Ellen once we get there. We are representing BBHB, and I’ve got no time for being sick.
It’s situations like this that underscore the importance of having all the things ready to go. If you don’t have it handy, it’s probably gonna be too late by the time you get it. Often a horrible awful extended time of illness can be avoided by hitting it hard as soon as you know something is amiss.
These were my big hitters over the last 24hrs. Inner Defense, Iver, Engystol (a homeopathic), and Thieves (and a long session of infrared therapy and prayer!).
I’m about 90% better this afternoon, and should be fired up and ready to go by tomorrow morning. Thank goodness!!! I know people who’ve had this nonsense for a couple of weeks. Acting quickly, I was able to kick it to the curb in 24hrs! πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
Do you have your toolbox ready to go for unplanned health issues?

It’s coming friendsπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ. I have been praying for this with a knowingness for 20ish years , that it would happen in my lifetime.

FDA corrupt minions…. don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.

Herbs For Women’s Health

Liz James · September 30, 2024 ·

Noteworthy chart taken from the book, Foundations of Botanical Medicine. Pharmacognosy is defined as the branch of knowledge concerned with medicinal drugs obtained from plants or other natural sources. Although “ancient”, each one of these health concerns and their herbal remedies can be validated multiple times over in the modern science found in pubmed.gov and other resources.

Plants are extremely valuable and effective tools in women’s health and the body identifies with the properties of a plant much better than the synthetic (aka manmade) attempts of the original. “Imitated but not duplicated.”

God gave us what we need in the garden🌿.

This chart can be found in Chapter 2 / The History of Herbal Medicines for Women.

“In virtually every culture, without exception, women maintained knowledge of herbal healing for the prevention and treatment of common maladies that afflicted their communities, including herbal treatments for women’s complaints.”

Kudos to each one of you out there who are keeping this art alive and well, and have the compassion and wisdom to share with others! You are the keepers of the “family book of remedies” and it’s an honor and a privilege to be with you in this purpose and journey.

December Gifts from YL

Liz James · December 1, 2023 ·

Oh Christmas treeπŸŽ„, Oh Christmas tree πŸŽ„…… look at those tree oils Young Living has put under our Christmas Tree this December πŸ™ŒπŸ’–. Some of my faves, and just in time to restock my oil cabinet on a few of them.
πŸŽ„Cedarwood…. who’d have thought such a common tree could have such uncommonly good benefits for our bodies? Remember, if you aren’t sure what to use an oil for, there are lots of resources (like here on H3…. we’re LOADED with a community that cumulatively has thousands of years of experience using oils). Did you know that Young Living has Pubmed studies highlighting many oils on their website? Scroll down to the bottom of the cedarwood page, and you’ll find 4 studies highlighting its supportive effects for pain modulation, sleep, anti-mosquito 🦟, and hair growth. ( there are 532 more studies on Pubmed πŸ€“).
Β
πŸŽ„Thieves … I don’t know anyone who doesn’t need ALL the Thieves… especially when it’s 15ml for free! This is a staple for our house. It’s often in the diffuser, and ALWAYS on the bottoms of my feet every night for immune system support. Thieves is a blend of 5 VIP immune supportive oils, and if you are a researcher, I’d encourage you to research all 5 of them. Bonus points… it’s a great Fall / Winter scent as is, or add a little Orange, Cedarwood, or Northern Lights Black Spruce for a festive Christmas tree upgrade. #scentswithbenefits
Β
πŸŽ„Longevity Vitality. I’m not gonna lie; this oil blend doesn’t smell great (thanks to the aroma of thyme), but it DOES do GREAT things for the body. It is incredibly immune-supportive and digestion-supportive. It also supports healthy cellular function overall. Once I understood how this blend of thyme, orange, clove, and frank was designed to work, it became a regular in my supplement routine. One of the things I do (you do you, Boo), is take a capsule every morning with 3 drops of Longevity, 3 drops of lemongrass, and 3 drops of Pine.
Β
πŸŽ„ When I learned the value of Copaiba years ago, I quickly added it to my “must have” stash (yep, I pretty much keep at least 3 bottles on hand at any given time). It’s quite the powerhouse when it comes to supporting a healthy inflammatory response. (there’s healthy and then there’s πŸ”₯πŸ₯Ί). If you’ve got some πŸ”₯somewhere in your body, you might end up feeling like hugging a Copaiba tree for all it did for you. Copaiba can be used safely both internally and externally.
I anticipate December’s free gifts every year because there’s nearly always the opportunity for a free Frankincense under the tree…. I mean, WHO doesn’t use and love Frank? 😍
Β
Ya’ll know my reference points always point back to God and science, and Frankincense is a perfect example of this. I mean, anything that was good enough for baby Jesus is surely meant for goodness for all of us (animals too!). I just did a quick pubmed.gov search and noted that there are 920 studies currently listed under the keyword “Boswellia” (the scientific name for our friend Frank). I strongly encourage you to do a little digging. You have likely been undervaluing this plant gift God gave all of us. I use it every single day in my face serum, and frankly (hee hee, see what I did there), I can’t get enough of it.
Β
Here’s my DIY Face Serum Recipe that I’ve used for the last 9+ years:
1- 15 ml empty bottle
15 drops of Frank
15 drops of Lavender
2 drops of Peppermint
(8-10 drops of any of the following depending on “how my skin and emotions are feeling”)….. myrrh, 2-5 drops of blue tansy, geranium, cypress, palo santo, ….. you might find your favorites…. these are mine)
fill up the remainder of the 15 ml bottle with your favorite carrier oil of choice. I love organic fractionated coconut, or macadamia nut, or apricot seed oil. Find the carrier oil that works best with your skin.
I love knowing that using Frank on my face has a positive effect on every cell in my body πŸ™Œ.
