I’m a big fan of Melissa Gilbert… I think we’re close to the same age. I cut my “reading teeth” on the Little House on the Prairie books and Melissa Gilbert brought them to life. We rarely watched TV when I was growing up, but this was one show we did watch regularly! Good, clean wholesome entertainment that the whole family can partake in….. I have seen this movie promoted recently. It looks like a good one!

Serendipity
Serendipity is one of my most favorite things!💖…..like a little gift from God. And it’s highly underrated!
About 5 days ago, I had a raging case of poison ivy. If you’ve ever had the poison ivy itch before, you know how bad it can be (especially when you are trying to sleep! 😭) I had put a bottle of Peppermint by my bed to use when the itching would wake me up at night (along with the rest of my nighttime oil stash).
So, in the middle of the night, I grabbed what I thought was peppermint, and rolled it all over my arm. It took me a sleepy minute to realize I had accidentally grabbed Thieves (which I use on the bottom of my feet at night for immune support)…. a little spicy, but in a good way.
Here’s the shocker tho…… it worked! 😱…. and it stopped the itching and dried up my poison ivy quicker than anything else I’ve ever tried.🙌… and only using it a couple times a day. I will definitely be adding this to my farmgirl arsenal👩🌾 against this common skin irritant.
What’s something that you figured out by accident (serendipity) that rocks your world now?

Reading is Thinking
A little of this and a little of that from my recent readings (if you are looking for a good book to wrap up your summer with!) 📚
📚Voices of Qi (pronounced chi): I’ve been studying alternative healing modalities for several years now ( Dolphin Mps , nutrition, herbals, exercise, and faith centered yoga). If your health is strictly hinged upon Big Pharma, please…. let’s chat. Big Pharma alone is like having a circle of frenemies instead of friends.
📚The Paris Architect: A beautiful historical fiction about a rather narcissistic French architect who, during WWII, finds himself by using his gifts to help Jews escape the Nazi’s.
EXCELLENT READ!!
📚The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek: Another historical fiction work…. it weaves the story of the blue-skinned people of Kentucky (a genetic trait…. methemoglobinemia that turns skin bluish tinged), and Roosevelt’s Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project of the 1930’s. It is tender and heartbreaking all at the same time. I knew nothing about either one of these pieces of history, so I learned quite a bit (and used the book a a springboard for learning even more about both topics!). The blue people of Kentucky were often ostracized by whites and blacks alike, so the emotional toll of “being different” was enormous.
📚America’s Christian Heritage: Pure history in this one! The Supreme Court has ruled four times that America is a Christian nation ( none of which have been ever overturned). Our money, our court system, and our founding education systems all included theological studies as part of the core curriculum ( including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, etc)…..
…… it has been said, that if an entity wants to change the course of a country, it first begins in the education system. In recent generations, they have taken out prayer and Bible in the schools…. Proverbs 22:6 “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it ” works both ways.
Christian faith has been purged from schools and our nation is currently paying the price. Every Christian faith based home should have a copy of this book, and every American should have a copy of the Constitution in their possession. Our forefathers established our country to have freedom to choose their religion…. but even the Constitution (which we all live under) has Christian faith based roots😉🇺🇸🙏💖.

Toxin-free Spa Day
We run a pretty tight ship (as my Navy dad used to say) around here at the farm. We have many animals🐮🐴🐕🐈🐔 and many chores each day, every day, and letting things slack or slide can lead to chaos, crazy, and frankly just good ol’ “stank “! 💩 Lots of animals leads to lots of manure and sweat don’tcha know👩🌾👨🌾!
We aren’t stinky heathens out here in the country😉, we like a clean smelling house that is toxin free. Years ago, i used to be one of those “plug in ” gals with a fake fragrance smell throughout our whole house. That was before I knew better ….. back when I assumed Big Pharma was here devoted to our best interests too.
Thank goodness my eyes were opened 18 years ago…and i learned the truth about both. Those household plug ins will do a number on your endocrine system…. guaranteed. The good news is that your house can smell even better than that fake chemical smell when you bring out the diffuser 😍.
What do you want your home to smell like? I love the smell of a spa…. I rarely have the time to have a spa day, and I LOOOOVE the spa aroma (not to mention a good massage!). Take a look at these diffuser blends…. I’ll be giving them a try myself!

Childhood Cancer
My friend Jen Weir…. she’s walked this path and is as passionate in sharing truth and knowledge as I am. (Perhaps this is why we get along so well!)
Please…. instill logic into the 2020 equation.
I am reminded of the passages in the Bible…. a splinter versus a plank in one’s eye.
Childhood cancer is the plank being overlooked while the splinter that is the ‘rona is getting all the attention.
Why is that, I wonder? (that’s a rhetorical question of course… I know the answer. Do you? )

Jen Weir:
I’ve gotten quite a number of folks irritated about my response on the whole not crisis virus.
Don’t get me wrong.
People get it.
People die.
Turns out, folks die everyday. The scriptures say “it’s appointed once for man to die”.
One of my m a i n reasons for giving frequent eye rolls is this stat right here.
Childhood cancer. The actual pandemic…
See, exactly 10 years ago my son was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer for children to get.
What wasn’t rare was that kids get cancer.
Often.
Far too often.
We learned that because of lies doctors told us when he was a baby, v@x your child, use toxic soaps and lotions, be sure to slather him with sunscreen, etc, that all of these factors contributed to his body creating the cancer.
Never did they recommend diet change.
Never did they recommend remove horrific toxic substances from the home- cleaners, candles, boxed foods…
So you’ll excuse me if I don’t buy into the pandemic BS, when such a tiny percentage of adults are truly struggling. Let alone the negligible amount of kids suffering under a bland virus.
Meanwhile, today- 43 kids will be told they have cancer.
Meanwhile, childhood cancer is the leading cause of death for kids under 20.
There is a much bigger epidemic happening, childhood cancer.
But perhaps you don’t care because childhood cancer hasn’t happened to your kid.
Is that it?
Does something have to affect us personally for us to actually care?
Or , **gasp** do something about it?
