Covid Virus 101.1

Liz James · May 30, 2020 ·

😷 Let’s get some info out here on the table… like it or not, everyone is a “prepper” to one degree or another. Unless, of course, you fly by the seat of your pants in every aspect of life.
ā“Do you make sure you have gas in your car before going on a trip…… āœ…
ā“Do you keep food in your home for your next meal……āœ…
ā“Have you run out recently and bought 3x’s as much toilet paper as you normally buy?
……..any of these things would mean that you, somewhere in your brain, have a bit of preparedness built into your psyche.
#wealldo

šŸ‘‰Here’s the thing tho…. people, for whatever reason, think about gas, food, and toilet paper before their own health. And yet… if you don’t have your health…. AND you don’t have the things needed to remain healthy handy…… does anything else really matter?

šŸ‘‰Secondly…. Emotions….. If you run around thinking you’re going to catch something, your body is already accepting the advice that it’s going to…. and your immune system starts dropping (I know…. Crazy but true)….. Yet hundreds (if not thousands!) of studies show that believing something will happen (good or bad) definitely affects the outcome, even with your health…. This information is designed to put you in the right place emotionally. Pull on your oxygen mask and help yourself so you can help others! #thinkpositively

The emotion “fear” is addressed over 500 times in the Bible. We are told not to have a spirit of fear or timidity but of love and strength. If you are a believer, as I am…. I take our responsibility to “fear not” very seriously. #ifGodiswithuswhocanbeagainstus

šŸ‘‰When preparing what you need for your health, this is NOT the time to cut corners. (that would be like handing out flimsy paper plates from the Dollar store when you’re about to ask that plate to hold ThanksgivingšŸ— dinner fixin’s…. Inadequate preparation could backfire on you if you are asking an inadequate product to do something it was never designed to do…. make sure what you are buying will work well under pressure. #KEYPOINT

šŸ‘‰ You’ll hear me refer to essential oils…. I only use Young Living…. precisely for the šŸ— dinner reason above. šŸ‘† You’ll hear me mention some supplements. Unless otherwise stated… only YL. There are a few places where YL doesn’t yet stand in the gap, and so I’ve researched and come up with some brands that I trust and use. Never pick/use a synthetically sourced supplement…. It’s a flimsy paper plate.

šŸ‘‰ And finally, knowledge itself really doesn’t matter IF IT’S NOT APPLIED…… so USE the knowledge you glean from this.

Now….. let’s move on to some facts.

Schooling at Home

Liz James · May 29, 2020 ·

I, Stephanie Gregory, am a mom of four wonderful people ranging in ages 5 years old to 28 years old! I am PASSIONATE about the subject of children and their well-being and as a former home-school teacher strengthening their emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical health is the priority.

We are all in a boat which we did NOT choose.  Are you Excited? Frustrated? Scared? It really doesn’t matter….. The only thing that matters is:

Are you going to lead your family through these unchartered waters or.. sit back and watch the ship go down? šŸ†˜

I am going to be so bold as to predict that you ā¤ļølove your children too much to sit back and watch the ship go down. But how? It will take patience and grit.

To successfully navigate these unknown waters, the following skills must be applied with INTENTION and šŸ˜€A POSITIVE ATTITUDE:

1. Have a Command Center – Depending on your kids’ skills/age, it may be in one central place or an individual space for their workspace. Either way, you/they need to be able to put their hands on their work easily and consistently. Organize the priorities! ā€œA place for everything & everything in its place.ā€šŸ˜‰

2.ā€œAll Hands on Deckā€ the family meeting šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ā€šŸ‘¦- Communicate with a positive attitude. Have your diffuser going with Young Living’s Citrus Fresh, Clarity,or Lemon and Peppermint to keep brains thinking clearly. This is where you set the ground rules, schedules, tasks, consequences, and ā°time blocks. This is also where you problem-solve. You can receive feedback about what works and what does not work. However, only allow problems to be discussed if accompanied by a suggested solution.šŸ’”

3. Establish Respect – This means MANNERS. Yes, Miss Manners is alive and well on this happy ship. If you have let things slide in the past, time to start a new program or someone will have to walk the plank. Being around one another 24/7 requires patience, slowing down and listeningšŸ‘‚ to how we communicate. If you fail to do this, your happy ship šŸš£ā€ā™€ļøstarts taking on water.

4.ā€œBe the Captain of your own Boat.ā€ A negative attitude trickles down.
*Be the number one encourager in your home!
*Honor each child’s learning style.
*Be flexible

5. Home Economics just got on the books! šŸ“•This long forgotten art is back in town! Here is your chance to instruct on the ā€œhow-to’sā€ of cooking, swabbing the deck, maintenance, pet/child care, and healthy self-care. Using Thieves Household Cleaner assures your family is safe from toxins! Never has it been more obvious than now how taking care of our bodies and minds impacts our lives, as well as the lives of others. No matter how much education you have or how much money you make, if you are not healthy…..your boat sinks!

6.Make It FUN!!! šŸŽ¤Sing – Laugh – Be Silly!  Making memories last a lifetime! Your kids may tell you to quit, but secretly they want permission to be silly too. Hug and kiss and tickle! Sailing with your family is fun!

7.Take Breaks Often. Getting outside is part of the curriculum. šŸŒž Vitamin D is essential to our well-being. The outdoor time is as necessary as the seat work.

8.Incentivize – We all have areas of weakness. Recognize your child’s struggles and help them strengthen šŸ’Ŗthose areas by offering incentives for their effort in these areas. It will be different for each child or adult.

9. God gave your children to you specifically! No one cares more about them than you do. Great teachers are great facilitators. This is your chance to be a great facilitator! Help your children learn for themselves.  Equip them with the tools and skills required to find the answers. It is a life skill everyone needs. Look at our situation now. We are all having to learn new ways. Teach them while they are young how to learn, and they will be able to adapt easily to situations they encounter.

10.Focus – There are two types of focus that I would like to present. Diffusing certain essential oils helps with both! One is the ability to stay on task. This takes training. Staying focused takes intention, consistency, incentives, and grit. The second focus is our attitude. This is a place where we, as parents, can model a positive attitude toward every situation. Bad and good things happen to everyone. It is part of humanity. Having a positive attitude equips us to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.

11.Patience with yourself and others is imperative. Squalls happen. We all make mistakes.  Oil up, put your oars back in the water, and do better next time. Lead by example by NOT getting discouraged with failure.

12.Carefully select who and what you let in YOUR head and theirs. What are you and your children listening to in the way of conversation, music, and screen? Is it encouraging and helpful? If notā˜ ļø, just say ā€œNoā€. Again, go back to #4 if this is questionable.

13.Establish a bedtime routine. šŸ’¤ Sleep is so important for overall health. Turn off devices, as well as Wifi before bed. BathsšŸ›€, reading, yoga or stretching can also help relax the body and mind. See what works for your ship. Diffuse Peace and Calming, Lavender, Raven, or Cedarwood in each bedroom throughout the night so that everyone wakes up refreshed and recharged!

šŸ˜„Above all….
ENJOY EACH OTHER!
Cherish this time together! Ride the waves! šŸ„ā€ā™€ļø
It will be over before you know it!
ā›µļø HAPPY SAILING!

History of Quarantine

Liz James · May 29, 2020 ·

I love a good history lesson!…. I knew the story of Thieves, but not the origin of the word quarantine.

#learningeveryday
#ThanksYL
#strongertogether

Little trivia of the day: Did you ever think about why quarantine is called quarantine?

This goes back to Italy in the 14th Century when they were fighting another epidemic/pandemic, the black death (bubonic plague). Yes, that is when the essential oil blend called the Marseilles water came up in history. That led to the development of the so important Thieves products by Young Living.

But at that time Venice was flourishing as a sea port and the Venetians decided to keep arriving ships out of their ports for 40 days when to came from areas impacted by the plague. Quaranta giorni in Italian means 40 days and hence the name quarantine. Now you know more than most others.

Everyone Matters

Liz James · May 28, 2020 ·

Whose Life Matters More? How’s that for a politically incorrect intro? Dang it if this hasn’t been on my mind for weeks on end.

I think we can say with near 100% certainty that the numbers regarding CV19 are suspect. Even Dr. Deborah Birx ( the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator) has said that the numbers are inflated by perhaps as much as 25% AND she herself doesn’t even trust the information the CDC is handing out these days. (according to a recent Washington Post article)

To date (and according to the worldmeter.com website), there have been 99,927 deaths due to CV19 in the United States (a .03% death rate in the USA and .07% worldwide if you do the math).

The virus is clearly real, and like all viruses, it is apt to pray on those in the poorest health…. Including those who are laden with organ compromising toxins. No wonder many of the elderly are at risk, considering the average 65-84 year old takes between 15-18 prescription medications each year (in addition to elder vaccinations).

The ā€œPowers that Beā€ made the decision to lock down the world (except for Sweden who did its own socio-bio-virology experiment and seems to be doing fine) and continue to encourage a no touch 6 foot distancing protocol, tho we know that the virus doesn’t obey the pseudo-science edict that the CDC has ordained.

We also know that a mask of any shape form or fashion is paltry protection unless you are:
1. In a sterile environment.
2. Putting it on properly and then NOT touching the mask the entire time it’s on your face + #1
3. Boiling or sterilizing or using a new mask each and every time + #1 and #2.
4. Your mask is an N95 or greater + #1 & #2 & #3…. And NOT made of cloth.
5. Has been fitted properly for your individual face + #1 & #2 & #3 & #4.
Otherwise you are #attemptingtocatchmosquitoeswithafishingnet

Yes, I know you know all of this, but it is important to recount the facts. šŸ˜‰

People with high risk comorbidities have cause for concern and therefore it would be prudent to be cautious and careful if they fall within that category.

In addition to limiting social contact and perhaps wearing a mask properly, we can hope they are also attempting to correct the course of their ship by eating organic foods and foregoing the junk, fast, and processed foods, exercising as much as is appropriate and under supervision, exercising their brain thru stimulus outside of television, drinking clean filtered water, getting plenty of sunshine, and removing toxins from their lives as much as possible.

And if they are not, who are we to tell them how to live their lives? #itsaConstitutionalright

Then there are the roughly 18 million Americans who lived with depression and anxiety before CV19 came into the picture.

Who knows how many have since joined them. 😢

Many people rely on daily routines, their jobs, time at the gym, time outdoors, interaction with friends, coworkers, and family members…. The hugs, love, and comaraderie …. Balm for the soul that keeps them afloat instead of drifting. #weareherdanimals

But the stark reality is this: not everyone has a job (unemployment continues to rise quickly) AND…. not everyone is getting (or has gotten) a stimulus check. I personally know quite a few people who are really starting to struggle under the weight of the financial burdens they have. 😢

Alcohol and drug addiction is also on the rise, as people sit at home and look for ways to numb themselves. 😢

I spoke to a friend who is a police officer šŸ‘Øā€āœˆļøin Dallas and he remarked that suicide is easily more of an epidemic right now than the virus in Dallas. The numbers he gave me indicated a 400% increase in the incidence of successful suicides these last few months. He cited depression and financial burdens based on evidence at the scenes in most cases. According to the Public Health group, Well Being Trust, we can expect these numbers to exceed death due to CV19.

Isolation, extreme mental distress and economic burdens typically don’t mix well. But since the mainstream media isn’t reporting on this, it leads me to believe that perhaps these lives matter less?

I personally don’t believe it, but if we are to believe the mainstream media in all things, then it must be true.

Dr Caroline Leaf is one of our nation’s foremost authorities on psychology and brain science. #sheisbrilliantandworthfollowing
In her book, Who Switched Off My Brain, she discusses dangers of prolonged lack of touch, also called ā€œcutaneous deprivationā€.

Over time, ā€œcutaneous deprivation causes emotional disorders, affects our intellect, and physical growth, and weakens the immune system. Research also shows touch deprivation causes negative change in the brain laying patterns for aggression and violenceā€.Touch is also considered a powerful healing force that alleviates the symptoms of stress, trauma, and depression. In short, we are wired for loving touch by God. #wiredforloveandtouch

Geez… considering 28% of Americans live alone, and 5% of the elderly live nearly ā€œtouchlessā€ in some form of assisted living…. I can only imagine the damage being done.

And yet…. The mainstream media is silent on this topic too, and we are encouraged to continue to exacerbate the problem by social distancing, and the elderly in assisted living continue to go without advocacy and visits from their loved ones.

……. But I suppose the health and wellbeing of the combined 32% of our country’s community who live in relative isolation (roughly 100 million people) is less important than the .03% who may yet still lose their lives to the virus.

Media?…….

I would be remiss if I also didn’t speak for the kids whose lives are traumatized by the very ones they live with. Before the ā€˜rona shutdown, 4 children die daily in the USA from child abuse and neglect. An estimated 3 million children are living victims of child abuse, and they’ve been locked inside with their abuser for the last many weeks. Who knows what kind of permanent physical and mental damage this has done to these babies during this time? Is that damage fixable? Only God and time will tell.

Media?…. Where are you?Are the lives of these 3 million babies not important too?

Spousal abuse is going on as well… make no mistake about that. An estimated 4.8 million women and 2.9 million men live in an abusive relationship with many having no place to retreat these last many weeks.

I suppose their lives are not quite as important as those who might get a virus that has a .03% mortality rate. I keep expecting to hear media outrage about child and spousal abuse….. But again…. Crickets.

We’ve misplaced our faith in this country and put it on statistics and the advice of man instead of God. #areallybadidea

šŸ’— ā€œFor God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.ā€ (2 Tim 1:7)

šŸ’— ā€œLet no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.ā€ (1 Cor 10:24)

šŸ’— ā€œThis is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.ā€ (John 15:12)

šŸ’— ā€œ… love your neighbor as yourself.ā€ (Mark 12:31)

šŸ’— ā€œMoved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched himā€¦ā€ (Mark 1:41)

There is no room for fear in a time such as this. It’s a foothold for the devil and that’s all he needs to turn focus inward instead of outward.

EVERYONE’S life matters and we need to stop thinking of only the 0.03%, and care for and cherish the other 99.97% too.
