December Young Living Gifts 2024

Liz James · December 1, 2024 ·

Is it just me or does it feel like we just ate turkey ๐Ÿฆƒ, went to bed and woke up and now it’s like days away from Christmas๐ŸŽ„? 2024 Just picked up some speed ๐Ÿซฃ.
Stop. Breathe. Enjoy the Season. ๐Ÿ™ And remember, life, all of this Holiday fullness/busyness…. it’s not about things, it’s about people, community, and togetherness. ๐Ÿ’–
I’m sitting here reflecting on Young Living’s December choices for our gifts with purchase (and purpose!). Subtly I’m also noticing the bottles are red, white, and blue ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ. YES! Let’s DO make America Healthy Again ๐Ÿ™!
So many casual conversations I have with people usually have an undercurrent of a health concern either for themselves or someone they love, and I feel certain the same is happening around you. It may only be a word or two in the conversation, but it’s there, and that means the concern is occupying their heart and mind.
We truly are the sickest we’ve ever been, and we are going to learn the truth of how sick we are as a nation in more revealing ways over the next year. I just learned this week that for every dollar ๐Ÿ’ฐ spent on a negatively impactful food- beverage/cosmetic/household product, THREE ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ dollars will be spent on the aftermath sometime in the future (Medical issues are the number one reason for bankruptcy).
December is often a time of reflection. I’m thankful for each of you helping other people grow in their health in small but impactful ways. You are making a difference in “your people’s” lives, planting seeds, cultivating growth, and helping people thrive (not just survive).
Instead of bringing a bottle of wine as a hostess gift, gift a diffuser with a bottle of essential oil (think about that person…. what do they need to improve their quality of life…. sleep, calming, joy, a decreased toxin load ?). (Remember, every oil blend has a deeper purpose than the name on the bottle may suggest. Neurotransmitters like oils ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜‰. )
Bring in the Christmas season at your office with a diffuser filled with Christmas Spirit.… it’s a favorite and it will make any atmosphere festive (not to mention it has some great immune supportive properties too! ๐Ÿ˜‰). That’s a stealth gift that keeps Grinchy germs at bay while boosting mood and spirit.
I was going to suggest using the Dry Skin Serum as a stocking stuffer, but then I looked at the ingredients ๐Ÿง๐Ÿค“…. I may have to keep that one for myself. What a beautiful and healthful blend! In 11 (almost 12 years) of Young Living, this is one I’ve never tried myself…. Merry Christmas to me! ๐Ÿฅฐ
Happy December Friends! Enjoy the season, and know that you are making a difference!
xoxo~ liz
PS: if you are not yet part of the Young Living community of health advocates, but would like to be….. and aren’t sure where or how to start, message me. I’d be honored to personally help you find your best way forward. ๐Ÿ™ #healthisthebestgiftofall

Young Living’s Free Gifts for July

Liz James · July 1, 2024 ·

Good morning friends! We are officially halfway through 2024…. can you believe it?? July’s gifts with purchase are perfect for our household because we use all three of these on a daily basis.
Freebies = I don’t have to buy them for the next few months! = Winning!!
All three of these… I’ve used each of them for years:
Lemongrass… ๐ŸŒฟthis is a fantastic multipurpose oil. It is considered a “hot” oil, so do not use it on the skin without diluting it. I use it topically, internally, and diffused to support various body systems and body functions.
๐Ÿ‘‰When I had a serious accident 9 years ago (and nearly lost my left foot), it was a key player in my topical “repair” blend to support healthy tendons (4 of which had been severed in the accident).
๐Ÿ‘‰Biting bugs tend to dislike lemongrass. I take it internally and in doing so, I appear to be much less attractive to mosquitoes and other biters. (note that it took several days of taking internally before I became a walking diffuser for said bugs).
๐Ÿ‘‰when taking internally, lemongrass is also helpful supporting healthy cholesterol and vascular health.
Stress Away……. One of my all time favorite and most used oils. Back when I was working as a retail pharmacist, this oil lived in my lab coat pocket and was used several times a day. There is science behind the oils in this bottle, and its regular use will help support a more comfortable autonomic nervous system balance (wouldn’t you rather live in a healthy balance of fight-flight freeze and rest relax and digest?…. our bodies are not designed to live in constant stress). Combine this oil with healthy self-care practices and you’ll notice the difference! ( And so will those around you ๐Ÿ˜‰. Pro Tip…. do you spend a great deal of time around someone who might need this oil?…… start putting it on yourself and become a walking diffuser for them. See if you don’t notice the difference!)
Super C Chewables….. If you are taking Vitamin C and the ingredient says “ascorbic acid”…. take note. Ascorbic acid is largely made from GMO’d corn and it is not as bioavailable as truly natural (ie: doesn’t require a laboratory) vitamin C sources such as acerola, camu camu, and rose hips…. all of which are in Super C Chewables). There’s additional synergy in these yummy chewables with the addition of citrus oils!
Are you already using these products too? What’s your story?
Stay cool and Happy July! ~ liz

Benefits of Legs Up The Wall

Liz James · April 12, 2024 ·

It’s pretty safe to say that I suggest this technique at least a few times every week in my coaching calls. If I would add anything to this graphic, it’s this…. fill a sock with dry rice or beans and tie a knot in it. Use that lightweight weight over your eyes and forehead. It will add to the relaxation by quieting the prefrontal cortex (where much “chatter” happens in our minds). Bonus points…. add a few drops of Lavender, Vanilla, Peace &Calming, or whichever oil is speaking to you at the time.
Give it a try! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oils of Ancient Scripture-Cypress

Liz James · March 28, 2024 ·

Oils of Ancient Scripture: Cypress
Genesis 6:14 โ€œSo make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.โ€
Isaiah 44:14 โ€œHe cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak. He let it grow among the trees of the forest or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow.โ€
Cypress is one of those oils that might be easily overlooked. To me, it has an aroma similar (but milder) to our friend Frank. I appreciate it for a few reasons. Like all tree oils, it is very grounding (relaxing). Studies have proven that this oil is relaxing and calming!
It is also a really important oil to consider when you want to support healthy circulation. (Nobody benefits from stagnant, slow-moving blood ๐Ÿ˜‰… in fact, stagnant blood can get downright dangerous). You can pretty safely assume cypress is a key oil in supporting overall health knowing that it’s one of the 9 oils used in the Raindrop Technique.
Cypress has been around for eons…. probably since the beginning of time๐Ÿ˜! Historically, the wood was used to build ships and houses of great strength and durability.
FUN FACTS:
The doors of St. Peterโ€™s Cathedral are 1200 years old and are made out of cypress. They show no sign of aging ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.
The island of Cyprus was named for this tree (cypress).
Historically, cypress essential oil was used by the ancients to support healthy wound healing, and arthritis, support healthy lung function, scar tissue reduction, alleviate cramps, and relieve muscle soreness. Cypress was also used to help flush toxins out of the body.
This is an interesting study about aromatherapy massage’s immunological and psychological benefits. Fancy that…. cypress is one of the oils discussed ๐Ÿ˜‰. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1142199/
When was the last time you had a Raindrop Technique done? If you’ve never had one…. would you like one๐Ÿ˜? Would you like to learn how to give one?….. Why receiving (and giving!) one is so very important for overall health. I’d love to teach you, or help hook you up with someone who can in your neck of the woods! ….. drop a comment and let me know! If you’ve got an amazing Raindrop story to share, I’d love to hear it ๐Ÿ’–.
PS: if you’d like to learn more about Oils of Ancient Scripture (there are many mentioned in the Bible), let’s chat. God truly did give us all we need in the garden.

Co-workers and Stress Levels

Liz James · March 16, 2024 ·

When Charlie (my husband) comes home from work, he frequently says, “What did you and your co-workers discuss today?”
The transition from being a corporate pharmacist employee to becoming my own boss and entrepreneur in late 2020 was quite the transition. I’m sure many of you can relate. Going from employee to self-employed requires an enormous mind shift, and that’s typically not something that either happens overnight or comes naturally after being conditioned to be an employee for 40-something years (I started my first tax-paying job when I was 14๐Ÿฅน).
My farm family truly are also my co-workers. They keep me sane. This is Daisy. She’s a Great Pyrenees Border Collie cross. She had a few homes that didn’t work out before she came to live with us permanently several years ago. An LGD/BC cross, although beautiful, can be a hard mental life for a dog. There are two mindsets potentially in conflict:
“Do I herd, or do I protect?” That genetic urge to be both can result in stress for the dog (and often for an owner too. Hence, the multiple homes before she came here.)
She’s actually really good at both of those jobs, and we’ve been able to find ways to help her “find herself”, and also use her gifts accordingly.
She’s as devoted as they come, and I have no doubt she would come to my rescue if ever needed her(much like some of the other dogs in our pack).
So Daisy’s job here on the farm: She’s head of security. ๐Ÿ˜‰
She and the others are also my stress relievers. Studies have shown repeatedly that dogs (and other animals) improve mood, reduce blood pressure, lower levels of cortisol which decreases stress on the body, and boost levels of oxytocin (a hormone that is associated with love and trust). Gimme a farm full of animals any day over a handful of medication to accomplish all that goodness!
PS: Daisy’s favorite oil: Peace and Calming ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿถ๐ŸŒฟ.
Here’s a link to a recent study on the effects dogs can have on our emotional health: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0298384
Do you have a “co-worker” at home? What’s their job title? Drop a pic! ๐Ÿฅฐ
