Knowledge is always optional…… tho destruction can be avoided and a temple can be rebuilt if knowledge is gained and applied ๐Ÿ™ !

Reading Challenge

Liz James · January 30, 2023 ·

In September of 2020, I heard & obeyed what God said to do (& NOT do). Walking away from a 6 figure income might have been a scary endeavor had God not already prepared my heart (and Charlie’s too) to step into obedience. The last few years have been full of surprises & opportunities I would have never experienced had I chosen to ignore what God said and stayed where it would be considered “uncomfortably comfortable” by most: when personal values don’t align with employer status quo.
ย
Book 1: The School of Obedience is an oldie I had never read before. It’s loaded with pearls of wisdom & heapings of truth. I highly recommend it. We can’t fully walk in God’s blessings if we aren’t obedient enough to responsibly receive them.
ย
Book 2: Arise and Stand is written by my friend Andrea. Wheeew!๐Ÿ™Œโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™ It’s part autobiography & part Bible study. The subtitle is “Breaking through oppression and walking in the full freedom of Christ.” Spiritual oppression is real y’all…. as Christians we don’t tend to talk about that enough. Good versus evil every single day, & if a person is struggling, there’s oppression plain & simple. The question is….. is the person comfortable being spiritually oppressed? I see this in my practice at a health level with some clients….. so many people are comfortable in their discomfort for a variety of reasons, even tho that thinking is to their detriment๐Ÿ˜ฅ. Another book I give two ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘to.
ย
Book 3: I learned the truth about vaccines probably 20 years ago, and the truth (re: safety and efficacy) is NOT what we were taught in Pharmacy school. The title of this book will make more sense once you dig into it. It has 1240 references and solidly affirms the truth we were not taught. Shocker (not!!) …. profit over purpose is a common theme in the vax industry. It’s a great book for the seasoned truth seeker, but might be a little on the heavy side for newbies. (If someone is in the latter category, I would suggest instead reading ๐Ÿ“š Dissolving Illusions by Dr Suzanne Humphries as a starting point).
ย
Are you reading any books right now that are pushing you to grow & become a better version of you? I’d love to borrow from your list!

Sacred Essence Yoga Retreat

Liz James · October 25, 2022 ·

It was a much needed retreat from the normal seemingly frenetic pace of life. Our Sacred Essence yoga retreat in Siesta Keys Florida this past week was so special, and it was a beautiful time spent with old and new friends.
ย
Ed and Jena Dailey do a masterful job in teaching the nuances of a true restorative yoga practice (as well as fine tuning form and technique). I’m always learning and leaning in to learning better ways to help people (and myself!) heal as naturally as possible. The movement and/or stillness (the “yoking” of mind and body) predates the formation of the structured entity called “yoga”. I learned that little historical tidbit many years ago, and it made so much sense. God gave us slow measured movement and times of stillness for a reason! Being still, prayerful meditation, healthy movement, and honing self awareness skills that (for me) points back to a personal connection with God.
ย
I teach yoga from a Christian faith based perspective. Our bodies are designed to move and to be a vessel of giftedness that may serve others in need. We can’t do that well if we are broken vessels and all our time and energy is spent serving that brokenness.
ย
We were able to make some stops along the way and meet up with some sweet friends too during our travels. I’m thankful for the time spent refilling my own cup๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ.

Sprouting Wings

One of my favorite (and relatively unknown) magazines is called Plain Values. If you want to fill your mind with all that is good, give them a try. Beautiful article written by singer songwriter Rory Feek.

Health Clues from Low Body Temperature – part 2

Liz James · February 15, 2022 ·

In the mid-1800โ€™s, a German physician by the name of Carl Wunderlich measured the temperature๐ŸŒก of about twenty five thousand people and found that the average body temperature was 98.6 degrees F (37 degrees C).
ย
Each one of us is a product of our internal, external, and emotional environment. Our personal histories (including generationally) have a way of defining us. Roughly twenty years after Dr. Wunderlich established 98.6F๐ŸŒก as the human baseline body temperature, the Second Industrial Revolution began. Railroads, new technologies including electricity, telegraph, telephones, โ€œBig Oilโ€, and later, Big Pharma each had a tremendous impact on our ancestors. As decades passed, the environmental toxin load continued to increase. The Third Industrial Revolution began in the 1960โ€™s and brought us electronics, processed foods, telecommunications, digital technology, biotechnology, nuclear energy, automobiles, more stress and more Big Pharma. The current effects of all of these revolutionary products may have made life (arguably) easier but made us sicker in the process. We are currently the sickest generation in modern history. In 2017, a study of thirty five thousand people found that the average body temperature๐ŸŒก is now 97.9 F.
ย
Perhaps we shouldnโ€™t be as worried about global warming as we should be worried about human cooling.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿง๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿค”
ย
Chronic low core body temperature๐ŸŒก can create a false sense of wellness, also making it hard to mount a defense in the form of a fever if needed. A fever is an active corrective process in the body. To quote Dr. Jernigan, โ€œ Blood that is overcooled from a cool core temperature is too thick to efficiently carry oxygen and the vital lung capacity is reduced leading to shallow breathing. This means that the oxygen to carbon dioxide exchange rate in the lungs is minimal. Now, combine the [slow] degenerative effects of the oxygen deprivation and the cold temperature and the fact that all of this and the overgrowth of microbes [review last weekโ€™s post] promote an acidic environment and you have greatly accelerated cellular degeneration and the [eventual] onset of disease.โ€
ย

๐ŸŒกTracking Body Temperature๐ŸŒก

ย
Tracking body temperature is super easy with a basic thermometer.
Measure temperature upon morning wake up before getting out of bed (ideally between 6-8am). This will be your core body temperature that is not influenced by food, drink, or activity. Take your temperature again at night sometime between 8-10pm after youโ€™ve been sitting or resting for about 30 minutes.
ย
Track the difference between the morning and evening temperatures. There should be a difference of at least 0.9degrees F.
ย
Ultimately, you are looking at two things (clues):
ย
1๏ธโƒฃIs body temperature daily average close to 98.6?
2๏ธโƒฃDoes the body allow its temperature to fluctuate from cool in the morning to warmer in the evening?

Temperature Too Cool?

If your body temperature trends towards โ€œcoolnessโ€, try incorporating some of these suggestions into your daily life:
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽHave you had lab work to rule out a physiological issue? Labs you may want to request include a full thyroid panel (TSH, T3, T4, Reverse T3, TPOab), saliva cortisol, DHEA, and hormones, CBC/CMP
ย
๐Ÿ”ŽIdentify any medications that might be affecting body temperature. Common culprits include beta blockers (blood pressure meds), antidepressants, sedatives, and other mood altering medications. Often, lifestyle changes, holistic (mind, body, spirit) care, and natural alternatives may reduce or eliminate the need for all of these. It requires ownership of oneโ€™s own body to do the work to identify and mediate the reason for the need. Hard stuff? Yes. Never doubt for a second that you are not worthy of doing the work to make it happen.
ย

๐Ÿ”ŽWhat might mind, body, and spirit care look like? To each person it will look a little different because of our individual uniqueness.

ย
๐Ÿ‘‰Jump start metabolism. A sluggish metabolism may simply need movement and exercise. Hot/cold therapy is another way to stimulate metabolism. I wrote about cryotherapy in the topic devoted to dopamine deficiency. Do you see the connection?
๐Ÿ‘‰Prayer and meditation relieve stress. Both activities also activate certain parts to the brain that control attention and autonomic functions such as blood pressure and metabolism. This is not an โ€œAmen, Dig in.โ€ type of prayer, rather developing a deep rooted connection with God in quiet and solitude. The studies on this are fascinating.
๐Ÿ‘‰Music influences physiological variables such as blood pressure, heart rate, immune and endocrine functionโ€ฆ.. and body temperature. Body temperature tends to rise when listening to music, particularly when listening to classical or specific frequency based music. Look for a company called Wholetones (founded by Michael Tyrrell) for more information on healing music.
๐Ÿ‘‰Infrared saunas and biomats. While they have multiple health benefits, for the sake of this particular discussion, they work to help the body โ€œheat upโ€. Think of them as โ€œtraining wheelsโ€ for 98.6.
๐Ÿ‘‰Outdoor time on the regular. Bonus points for pairing this with exercise!
๐Ÿ‘‰Dry brushing for improved lymphatic flow. A healthy lymphatic system is crucial in the toxin elimination process. If you are not already adding a drop or two of Young Livingโ€™s Lemon Vitality essential oil into your water (use a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel cup) start now for daily gentle lymphatic system support.
๐Ÿ‘‰Removing toxins from daily life. I cannot stress this enough. Our bodies are dropping in temperature because of daily cumulative exposure to toxins. We can detox all day every dayโ€ฆ. But if we continue to add in toxins as fast as we detox, there is no end in sight. Medications (tho occasionally needed) are a toxin by definition. Knowing this is one of the biggest reasons Iโ€™m such a strong advocate for finding a healthier way whenever possible. Additionally, a healthy body temperature starts with a toxin free home. Have you ditched the chemicals yet? Young Livingโ€™s Thieves Household cleaner and Thieves Kitchen and Bath Scrub fulfill all cleaning needs, and support healthy immune function in the process. Crank up your diffuser and ditch the fragrance plug inโ€™s. There are a million crazy good smelling possibilities as you make your own signature diffuser blends. My favorite right now is Young Livingโ€™s Believe essential oil blend and Lushious Lemon (oh my!). Soaps, skincare, cosmetics, perfumesโ€ฆ.. All of these generally are loaded with toxins and Young living has safe, toxin free alternatives. We simply cannot afford NOT to use them.
๐Ÿ‘‰Chiropractic care. Chiropractic manipulation supports nervous system function and regular chiro care may ultimately help a thyroid, adrenal or other underlying physiological dysfunction.
๐Ÿ‘‰Learning to release emotions and attitudes that donโ€™t serve your body. Unhappy, uninspired, dissatisfied, dull, and passive living (ie: life happens to you, you donโ€™t make life happen) are all associated with lower body temperatures. Live life fully and engaged. Nobody can steal that from you. It is a personal choice regardless of circumstance.
๐Ÿ‘‰Raindrop. Have you received one yet? If not, find someone who can give you one. Better yet, get the Raindrop Technique Collection and begin learning with a buddy. There are comprehensive instructions included in the kit.
๐Ÿ‘‰Detoxification of the body is not a โ€œonce and doneโ€ process. Itโ€™s a lifestyle. Make sure your gut is moving proficiently. Probiotic Life 9 (MightyPro for the kiddos), ICP Daily, and digestive enzymes (such as Essentialzymes-4, Detoxzyme, Essentialzyme, Allerzyme, or Mightyzyme kids chewables) may be integral tools for optimal gut health support for the motility or toxin challenged individual.
๐Ÿ‘‰Support the adrenal glands as needed. Endogize capsules or Endoflex essential oil blend are two highly supportive tools.
๐Ÿ‘‰โ€œHot oilsโ€ have their place too in supporting a healthy bodyโ€™s temperature. Consider applying these oils to the bottoms of your feet daily as a supportive measure: Thieves, Mountain Savory, Nutmeg, Oregano, Rosemary, Thyme (notice how many of those are in the Raindrop protocol!)
ย
Consider this. Raising core body temperature by 2 degrees positively influences immune system activity by up to 40%. This is why having a low grade fever when you are fighting off something isnโ€™t a bad thing and it isnโ€™t a good idea to suppress a low fever.๐Ÿค“
Iโ€™ll leave you with this. Make 98.6 F great again, and improve your overall health! ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐ŸŒก
If you have lived with a low body temperature for years, be aware that your body will need retraining, and that doesnโ€™t happen overnight. This kind of clue scene takes awhile to clean up. It may take a year or longer of daily care before the body is able to begin correcting the impact of chronic low temperature. Patience and baby steps, but I promise it will be worth it!
