Spring Detox

Liz James · April 9, 2020 ·

Psst…… Hey there friend! I see you and your struggle between patience and frustration, perhaps even moving between anger at being cooped up and concern for the welfare of others. You are not alone in this. Hardly. Let’s chat a bit, shall we? 😘

Springtime is the season of new and pent up energy bursting forth… it’s that way in nature, and we humans also have that tendency.

Spring cleaning….

Spring gardening…..

Western medicine doesn’t look that much at seasonal changes and how it affects your body (unless they are discussing seasonal allergies),…. but it is a core feature in Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM looks at the physical (what can be seen), and also the energy (that which might be blocked or sluggish). Too much blocked energy, and something physical will usually result. Free flowing energy results in a higher body frequency which results in a happier healthier you! #highfrequencyrules #bethelight

AT THE HEART OF THE SPRING SEASON FOR TCM ARE THE LIVER AND GALLBLADDER. THESE TWO ORGANS PLAY A TERRIBLY IMPORTANT ROLE IN DETOXIFICATION OF OUR BODY. WINTER WAS A TIME FOR STORING RESERVES…. AND SPRING IS OUR TIME FOR SHEDDING THE ACCUMULATED TOXINS THRU INCREASED MOVEMENT THAT TENDS TO COME MORE NATURALLY WITH LONGER DAYLIGHT HOURS AND A SUN THAT BECKONS US OUTDOORS….. and we need to be doing this!

Grab a bottle of Juvaflex or Helichrysum, Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, Basil, Rosemary, Frankincense, or Geranium and apply over the liver or use the vitality versions and add a drop or two to your water.

Movement is critical to all parts of the body… but in the Spring season, it’s especially important to your liver. Exercise can be done anywhere… even in the comfort of your own home and neighborhood!

Grab a bottle of the amazing essential oil blend, Motivation, and go for a walk today. Your liver will thank you. Promise!Ā
Failure to move makes blood sluggish, and accumulated toxins just don’t have the opportunity to leave the body as they should.

Signs that you’ve maybe not incorporated enough movement in your life recently?
frequent headaches
sluggish metabolism
frequent sighing
stress related digestive issues
chronic stress you can’t seem to shake
an odd feeling of a “lump in the throat “
irritability, anger, or frustration

The liver is also the organ that holds stress. One of the best ways to help your liver emotionally is to practice expressing your feelings. Express… and then let go of them. Don’t dwell on them unless they are positive ones! Holding on to your negative emotions ultimately will cause outward irritability, frustration and anger. One sign that you might be holding on to something is feeling like you have a lump in your throat (almost like the feeling you get in your throat right before you cry).

Remember…. different emotions live in different organs….. Anger is held in the liver. But for the “negative” emotion an organ holds, it also holds a good one too…. and we have the free choice to decide which one is going to be expressed. The “positive” emotion associated with the liver is compassion. ….. and ya’ll… I’m thinking right about now…. our world could use a little less anger and a little more compassion.

If you are wanting to get rid of anger, first have some compassion on yourself. These are stressful times and stress feeds anger. Instead, try looking for ways to express compassion to get your liver energy flowing:

Offer to go shopping for someone who needs to avoid people due to a health concern.

Clean out your bookshelves and donate books or games to an assisted living community library.

Offer to walk someone’s dog for them.

Share what you have with someone who has less than you do at this moment.

Call people to check on them… don’t forget about your extroverted friends. They are probably climbing their curtains right about now šŸ˜‰.

And finally….. seek out ways to nourish your liver… Lemon vitality oil in your water….. beets, broccoli, asparagus, and goji berries are all very helpful ways to support your liver.

Goji berries….. hmmm, where have we heard of those before? You probably have some in your house….. at least I HOPE you do. šŸ˜‰… Goji berries are also known as wolfberries… and the best, healthiest ones in the world can be found in our NingXia Red! Who knew?

Love your liver, and show some compassion to yourself and to others. We’re gonna make it thru this time alone together just fine. You’ll see. 😘

#8 – Viruses 101

Liz James · March 24, 2020 ·

Post #8: Viruses 101…… What we Know to be True about Viruses (aka…. the care and feeding of a virus).

Here we are, a little further into this situation and it certainly doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. Like (hopefully) all of you, I’m willing to do what I can to help prevent the spread of the “invisible enemy” as I’ve recently heard this particular virus called.

So onward… ( Please refer to Posts, #5-7 for Action Points #’s 1-5). Let’s consider a few more tools in the toolbox for creating an inhospitable environment for viruses….

Plan of Action #6 : L-Lysine: it’s a foundational amino acid we need in our body. Viruses have difficulty thriving when we have enough of this on board. Really… anyone who struggles with any sort of viral related dysfunction probably needs extra supplementation but to have a healthy immune response on the daily…. Consider 500mg /day.

Plan of Action #7: Nano Silver – Colloidal Silver. CS definitely has a place in my tool box!
(Remember, everything deals in electricity). Silver is constantly on the prowl for a single electron. Pathogens have simple cell walls with single electrons, stealing the electron ruptures the cell membrane. Healthy cells have a lipid bilayer, so are not harmed. Here are a couple other colloidal silver tips:
šŸ‘‰Suggested immune support is 1 tsp twice a day.
šŸ‘‰ CS functions better if the body is alkaline.
šŸ‘‰CS functions better in the presence of antioxidants (think glutathione, Sulfurzyme, and NingXia Red) *antioxidants help ditch the die off toxins faster too.
šŸ‘‰AVOID IONIC silver (that is what can turn you blue)Colloidal is safe if it’s manufactured using the right electrical current (otherwise it can become ionic)
šŸ‘‰”Structured” CS — safest and most effective at creating an inhospitable environment for pathogens.

Plan of Action #8: Viruses don’t like sunlight… spend time outdoor! (UV radiation is effective in killing off most viruses on surfaces) Bonus points for also getting some natural Vitamin D in the process! (You guessed it… viruses don’t like healthy vitamin D levels in a body either, so I STRONGLY suggest supplementing! I personally take 50,000iu per week. )

ncbi.nim.nih.gov article

Plan of Action #9: Viruses appear to like cooler temps and low humidity (no wonder they are more prevalent in the winter!) They survive on surfaces for a shorter amount of time at temps greater than 68 degrees, and when humidity is over 50%. I’m hopeful that as spring temps rise it will help the situation considerably!

aem.asm.org

Plan of Action #10: Viruses like sleep deprived people (because immune systems become impaired). Ya’ll, pray for the health care workers as they work on few hours of sleep in an incredibly stressful situation. And do your civic duty to get more sleep yourself (thereby boosting your immune system). If you struggle in this area, please feel free to PM me, and I will be happy to walk you thru some sleep tips and tricks. 😘

Plan of Action #11 There does appear to be a connection between EMF/ 5G and Viral infection.
**** In my opinion, this is the most important tip at all***…and for some of you…. it might seem far fetched. But I ask you…IS IT WORTH THE RISK?

5G is the accelerated cell phone radio frequency that all the big name telcom companies have been advertising, and IT.IS.NOT.SAFE.

I am concerned that it may be at the root of the virus activity.

Chronic exposure to 5G prevents the binding of oxygen to hemoglobin. 😳What happens when that happens in the body? Oxygen deprivation occurs…. and leaves us gasping for air… kinda like someone who might have a dry version of pneumonia. #soundfamiliar?

Chronic exposure to 5G also Increases cellular permeability to viruses. Well…… that can’t be good!

Chronic exposure to 5G also increases the permeability of the blood brain barrier. Again…. I’m thinking that can’t be a good thing either.

Wuhan China was the first city in the world to be completely blanketed by 5G…. and that happened shortly before everyone started getting so sick. I’ve noticed (check the coverage maps of the various telcom carriers) that the areas that have heavy 5G here in the USA coincidentally are also epicenters of this illness.  I do not understand why this possibility is not being explored or discussed on the news…..

Is it worth it to ignore these facts? #Idontthinkso

Your cell phone is a receiving device. Please don’t sleep with it (or your laptop or pad) in your bedroom.

Leave it on airiplane mode when you are carrying it next to your body ESPECIALLY when in a 5G heavy environment.

Those ear buds you might be using….. they are receiving the radio frequency directly into your brain. I know they are expensive, but ditch them and get a wired set. Here is a reputable brand on Amazon:

emf free headphones

Please get some sort of radiation blocker device or sleeve for your phone. There are many on the market. I have chosen to purchase from this company because it was recommended by someone in the healthcare industry that I trust. Not all brands work the same.

safe connect plus website

OK… that’s it for now. Everybody stay safe and I hope ya’ll are finding a little time to rest, relax, and reset during this downtime. And if you are an essential worker (as am I!)… you are in my prayers friend!

#6 Viruses 101

Liz James · March 14, 2020 ·

Post #6 CV 101…… What we Know to be True about Viruses (aka…. the care and feeding of a virus).

What?!? You don’t want to care and feed a virus of any sort?

Well, then….. let’s set the stage for what it might look like to create an inhospitable environment should a virus want to step foot into your personal space. šŸ˜‰

Please refer to Post #5 for Action Points #1 & #2 ’cause I’m just gonna dive right in to…….

Plan of Action #3: Viruses (in general) cannot set up camp and unpack their “bug in” bags unless some things go awry in a body ā›ŗļø

If a virus enters into your personal space, one of the first things its going ask itself is this:

“Does this body have impaired glutathione production?”…. or is it gonna put up a fight?”

What the what? I thought we needed a strong immune system to fight off any viruses? Yes, that you do. But let’s unpeel a layer of that onion shall we?

Glutathione is something our body manufactures in every single one of its cells. It is often considered the most important cellular defense/ antioxidant that allows the body to prevent and fight infections and disease.

It also plays a crucial role in immune response, DNA repair, and the detoxing we must be doing constantly to ward off the damage done by medications, household (or other) chemicals, radiation, & our own metabolic wastes.

(Ya’ll… if we are laden with these wastes, chemicals, and broken DNA…. ain’t no way we will be able to effectively fight off bacteria, viruses, and destructive toxins that constantly assault our body).

HERE’S A BONUS IN THE DEAL, GLUTATHIONE IS ALSO THE PROTECTOR OF OUR IMMUNE CELLS. IT EFFECTIVELY FEEDS, PROTECTS, AND STRENGTHENS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AND BOOSTS WHITE BLOOD CELL PRODUCTION (TO FIGHT INFECTION) …. …. THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF OUR LIVES IS LITERALLY DEPENDENT UPON GLUTATHIONE.

Normally, glutathione is recycled in the body…. except when the toxic load is too much of a burden, and/or the simple building blocks (which I will talk about in a bit) are lacking….And that is where trouble happens.😬

Who might have impaired glutathione production? ….well… glad you asked!

šŸ‘µšŸ‘“ The elderly

šŸ’‰ The vaccine injured (another topic for another day)
šŸ”„ Those with acidic internal environments (Remember, we need to be constantly striving for a slightly alkaline body pH…. all diseases…. including viruses, love an acidic environment)

🚬 Smokers

šŸ”šŸŸ Those who are nutritionally deficient. Not to make light of the current virus situation, but 1 in 5 deaths in the USA is related to nutritional deficiencies…. that’s 11 million people a year friends. 😳 #easilypreventable

šŸ’ŠšŸ’Š Those who are on certain medications. Some meds deplete glutathione in the body…. and this acquired deficiency usually gets misdiagnosed as a side effect (and more medication is prescribed instead of correcting the deficiency …. heavy sigh)

If you are taking medications in any of the following drug classes, you’ll want to pay special attention to how to help improve glutathione production:
šŸ’ŠAcid Blockers (ex: Nexium, Pepcid, Prilosec, Protonix etc)
šŸ’ŠAnalgesics (ex: Acetaminophen or any product containing acetaminophen including Hydrocodone)
šŸ’ŠAntacids that contain Aluminum (please, in Jesus name, do not knowingly consume Aluminum anyway! šŸ™
šŸ’ŠCertain Antibiotics (including amoxicillin, zithromycin, cephalexin and related, doxycycline, quinolones, and sulfamethoxazole )
šŸ’Š Anti-inflammatory meds: (NSAIDS, Steroids, and Aspirin)
šŸ’Š Diuretics (ex: Furosemide and HCTZ)
šŸ’Š Birth control and synthetic hormone replacement therapy
Ugggh. That was a long list šŸ˜”

How might we go about improving glutathione production, and in the process…. improve our immune function? #wehaveourways

We need a sulfur donor! Sulfur (not to be confused with the drug class “sulfa”) is required in our very DNA, and it’s a major building block needed for Glutathione production.
Common sulfur food sources include broccoli, kale, collards, cabbage, cauliflower, and watercress, and raw milk. Sadly, our soils (even on many organic farms) are depleted of minerals due to farming practices, so supplementation is a really good idea.

One of my most favorite YL supplements is called Sulfurzyme. As you might guess from its name…. it’s a rock star sulfur donor. šŸ˜‰ I take it for a variety of reasons that I’m not even gonna go into today, but cannot imagine my life without it, especially now that immune health is a pertinent topic these days.

šŸŠ Secondly, glutathione production needs a natural source of Vitamin C. (Synthetic abounds…. try to avoid it if you can…. it’s derived from GMO’d corn). #justsaynotoGMO

My favorite source of naturally sourced Vitamin C is Young Living’s Super C Chewables. It also comes in a non-chewable form, but I take them daily as a healthy “treat” ’cause they’re kinda tasty!

Thirdly, glutathione production needs a source of Magnesium. Natural sources are always best ( dark chocolate, avocados, nuts, beans, chickpeas, pun’kin seeds), but once again…. soils are depleted of minerals, so I supplement. Young Living does not yet stand in the gap for us for this supplement, but I’ve found a plant based brand I feel comfortable recommending: NATURELO Magnesium Glycinate.

šŸ„ Finally…. selenium and Vitamin E… both are needed in small amounts. I take a supplement that has trace amounts of selenium, and that… in combination with mushrooms, grass fed beef, eggs, and oatmeal will do my body good.

Natural sources of Vitamin E include nuts, sunflower seeds, spinach and broccoli, so I’m pretty well covered there as well.

Other ways to boost glutathione production:
šŸ‘‰exercise! #justdoit
šŸ‘‰Vitamin B’s…. (folate, B6, & B12)
šŸ‘‰Milk Thistle
šŸ‘‰ Prayer & Meditation (would you believe that regular practice of these has been found to boost glutathione production by as much as 20%?) #Godwantsushealthy

Alrighty friends…. signing off for now. Stay tuned for Post #7… there’s lots more to unpack!

Holler at a friend who practices a Young Living healthy lifestyle (or at me) if this series has interested you and you’d like to learn more.

(and as always, this post is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or tell ya what to do in the case of a pandemic… I am not a doctor…. just a pharmacist who has been around the block a few times šŸ˜‰)

Coming Up For Air

Liz James · March 6, 2018 ·

Lordy, the first quarter of 2018 came in like a lion, and then took over my life. Here’s a toast (of raw milk) that 2nd Qtr 2018 will be a little gentler on my time. The good Lord only gave me 24 hours in a day, and they’ve been filled to overflowing. Thank goodness I’ve been blessed with a fast metabolism and have access toĀ NingXia Nitro.

Rain: Henceforth known as ā€œThe Great Flood of February 2018ā€. While we desperately needed rain, in this part of Texas, the weather is feast or famine. It’s either scorching hot, windy as heck, insanely beautiful, or swampy wet. February was cold and wet. In fact, it was too wet to be muddy some days. The mud came later tho….. lots of it. Chores that typically took an hour sometimes took two hours for days on end. As I sit here and type, the wind is blowing hard…. (Wyoming hard if you are from that part of the world). I don’t enjoy the hard winds, but I’m enjoying it today, knowing it’s drying the ground out faster.

Friends: This crazy quarter has been filled with so many good things…. Elsa survived (and is thriving), my vision is coming into fruition, and we’ve been blessed by connecting with friends old and new. Humans are interesting creatures. We thrive in community. Studies have shown that over and over again…. even introverts (myself included) need community to thrive.  That said, we introverts just need time alone after we’ve spent time with our tribe. I read recently that most introverts are generally highly sensitive and some are bestowed the blessing of ’empath’. Work with me here while I try to explain this in basic ā€œJoe scienceā€ terms….. Each one of us is a bundle of energy. This is a scientifically proven fact. Electrical current frequency is measured by Hertz, and we all have varying degrees of energy frequency (Again, not new-agey stuff… this is a fact). Some people have the ability to sense or ā€˜feel’ subtle changes of energy in people and in our environment (Animals are VERY good at this).  I hear massage therapists speak of it often, but didn’t really understand until I began my Dolphin MPS certification process and spent more time with my hands on people. Christian Yoga certification training has taught me even more about it. There are people who could be termed ā€˜energy vampires’ in that they leave you exhausted after spending much time with them. The same can be said for those who recharge your spirit. And then, there’s the chaotic ā€˜energy chatter’ that many of us introverts try to avoid when we can. This is a real thing, and I am learning to embrace the gift that God has given me. It has also enabled me to understand why my quiet/ recharge time is truly so important for my physical and mental health. Chronic low frequency (meaning low Hertz) will lead to dis-ease and disrepair within the body. I know… it sounds hokey…. but do some research if you think I’ve dived off the deep end. There is truth to what I just wrote. Fascinating stuff! The body is an incredible machine, and the more I learn about it, the more I marvel at how easy dysfunction can occur.

Elsa: Our little miracle calf has had some milestones in the last month.  About 6 weeks into her life, she figured out how to mechanically overcome her cleft palate and begin nursing on her own. Huge kudos to her very patient mama, Honey. It takes her quite awhile to eat, but Honey has definitely been the unsung hero in all of this. I will tell you more about her someday.  Elsa has been able to latch on to both front teats, but because of the angle and length of the back teats, could not nurse on those. That is working out well, so I’ve been milking the back quarters while she cleans out the front two. (A cow’s udder has four separate compartments that produce and then store the milk)

We noticed several weeks in to Elsa’s life that her ears had gotten frostbitten, and it looked like she was going to lose the tips of each ear. Sure enough, a couple of weeks ago, the dead areas simply peeled off. I’m posting a pic here, and although you really can’t tell unless you look hard enough, her left ear  is a little different than her right ear now. (I’m telling you…. it gets COLD here sometimes in the winter!).

She is starting to eat regular food now, and we’ve come to realize that there is a new problem emerging. The solid food keeps creating a bolus that lodges in her nostrils. I have created a gentle rinse recipe along with a way to remove the bolus when it forms. She doesn’t like it, but I can tell she is appreciative of our efforts afterwards. The rinse is a mixture of distilled water, colloidal silver, and a small amount ofĀ Thieves Mouthwash. The latter two create an inhospitable environment for bacteria….. important because my fear is now that she will develop a bacterial infection if food sits there too long and is allowed to ferment. (And yes, I did put a little up my own nose just to make sure it wouldn’t burn…. for those of you who are wondering ;)! We’re just taking this ā€˜Raisin’ Elsa’ thing day by day. She is healthy and strong, but I feel like I need more information on cleft palates that are not surgically repaired. Surgery does not seem to be an easy option here, but perhaps I’ve not dug deep enough, or contacted the right resources? She is growing so rapidly, and it seems like any repair would need to be able to grow with her somehow.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your day! I’m headed out to feed. Although the wind is blowing hard, the sun is glorious and shines on my face.

Hugs and Love, liz

Sleep Week – day 6

Liz James · July 8, 2017 ·

Good morning friends! I hope you all got your rejuvenating, anti-aging 7+ hours of sleep last night! There is so much to cover, and so little time left in the week.

Blood sugar fluctuations… we all have them…. some people have a much larger span between high’s and low’s but more than 86 million Americans are fast approaching a ā€˜diagnoseable condition’ because of these fluctuations. Only 1 in 4 are actually aware of this ā€˜oncoming train’ that will ultimately affect their life in big ways.

As I head off to farm chores this morning, I leave you with these thoughts. I see people with newly diagnosed conditions daily at the pharmacy. Often, they are blindsided by the diagnosis of a PREVENTABLE condition, and so the first trip to the pharmacy for their new prescription I see their ā€˜deer in the headlights’ look. This tells me that likely (in these instances) the person had not ā€˜listened to his/her body’ for an extended period of time, and a symptom finally forced him/her to the doctor.

We’ve got to learn to be the CEO’s of our health. Your restless sleep (and other signs) may be trying to tell you something, and it’s up to you, the commanding officer of YOU, to decipher the clues.

There is nothing more important than this.. The richest people have nothing if they do not have the health to enjoy life. I hear patients complain about the price of medication and healthcare at work. On top of that, they are now having to deal with a new ā€˜condition’. That condition may also cost them time and quality of life.

We can choose to address our health PROACTIVELY (diet, SLEEP, exercise, avoiding toxins, man-made chemicals in the form of skincare, cleaning products….even hygiene goods, and chronic stress whenever possible, etc) and ā€˜pay for our healthcare’ by doing things to be well…. OR we can be REACTIVE and pay for our health later in the way of doctor visits, medications and healthcare related expenses, quality of life, and perhaps shortening of life. Life is full of choices, and this is a big one.

I hate to leave you with such a heavy topic this morning, but if it resets at least one person’s thinking, then I think it’s worth it!

Make it a great one! Tomorrow is our last day, and then it’s back to business as usual! This is such a huge topic… I’ve realized I can’t cram it all into 7 posts. I think I’ll ultimately have a longer online class later in the year for this topic if there is enough interest.

Take care and make it a great day!
Liz
