June Gifts from Young Living

Liz James · June 1, 2021 ·

Good morning and Happy June! Can you believe we are already almost half way thru 2021? 😍
I’m excited to see these June freebies personally, and here’s why…
300 PV tier
Retail value: $185.53
Peace & Calming essential oil blend, 15 ml
• We just added two new large rescue pups (teenagers really) to our farm crew, which changes the pack dynamics on our farm. ALWAYS, the goal is to have zero skirmishes within our dog pack of 6, so we use ALL the tools and skillsets to make sure this doesn’t happen. Diffusing Peace & Calming friends…. and applying to to their collars and ears. I’ve been told this works nicely on kiddos too 😍, and I know it works well on we adults too!
The blue tansy in Peace and Calming just makes everything better! Hint: blue oils are great for skin and emotions!
250 PV tier
Retail value: $91.78
Aroma Siez essential oil blend, 15 ml
• When it’s not raining (we’ve had a FLOOD here…. like almost nonstop for a month), I’m out in the garden pulling weeds like a crazy woman. 👩‍🌾 If you’ve ever pulled weeds by hand for 4 hours straight, you’ll know how important Aroma Siez is to your muscles!
190 PV tier
Retail value: $47.37
Citronella essential oil, 15 ml
We’ve been using those nontoxic mosquito dunks like crazy in an effort to keep the mosquito population down out here, but frankly, there aren’t enough mosquito dunks in the world to address the amount of standing water we’ve had, so the mosquitos are literally taking over the universe (in our area anyway). Solution? Become a walking diffuser!
Make a DIY outdoor spray blend of Citronella with oils like Rosemary, Tea Tree, Myrtle, Clove, or Lemongrass and spritz it on clothing as needed.
(pro tip: I also put a couple of drops of lemongrass vitality in a capsule and take it twice a day especially during summer months)
You could also add a drop or two of Citronella to your YL Sunscreen and solve two problems at once with application!
Bonus Essential Rewards: Eucalyptus Globulus essential oil, 15 ml
Lung health! …… do your research friends.  Good stuff!
• I totally equate Eucalyptus (and rosemary and lavender) with a spa day (a rare rare luxury)…… make yourself a mixture of these three and add to your dryer balls or make a spritz bottle for your pillow. You’ll breathe easier and life will feel that much better wrapped in healthy goodness!
And as always…… free shipping with any order greater than 100 PV.
Have a beautiful day!!

World Bee Day!

Liz James · May 23, 2021 ·

I’m a few days late on wishing everyone a wonderful World Bee Day! We had bees for several years and kept them organically.  Tragically,  we lost our two very strong hives to an outside toxin. Quite literally, thousands of bees died overnight😭😭😭.
Someday, we’ll keep bees again. For now, we are relying on a few wild hives to do our pollinating. Thankfully, they are bountiful on our farm.
Did you know that for every 2 out of 3 bites of food you eat (provided it’s REAL food…. not the synthetic junk you can’t pronounce), you can thank a bee?
15 years ago, I wrote a children’s book on bees…. it’s “nature fiction”… designed to teach kids and adults alike about the lifestyle of bees. In honor of World Bee Day, I’d love to bless someone with a copy of “Ebenezer the Claustrophobic Bee”.  Comment below, and your name will be placed in the drawing.

Sunscreen…Protection or poison?

Liz James · May 11, 2021 ·

Hello Sunshine! 🌞

Have you started spending time in the sun already this spring? Before you grab your traditional bottle of ray blocker….. consider these facts:
There are more than 6 common sunscreen ingredients that should cause you to raise a hairy eyebrow and think twice. Common ones include:
☠️ avobenzone
☠️ oxybenzone
☠️ octocrylene
☠️ ecaamsule
☠️ homosalate
☠️ octisalate
☠️ oxtinoxate

Frequently we hear that most commercial sunscreens are banned in areas where there are coral reefs.🐙🐠🐟🐬🐡 Why is that? Certainly because these ingredients are derived from petroleum (and we all know what an oil slick does to an ocean environment!)….. but think about this, coral reefs are living breathing organisms, and toxins affect them!

News flash! So are we!

Would you use a product known to disrupt your endocrine system, lower sperm count, increase cancer risk, or cause skin or respiratory tract irritation (think COPD, emphysema or asthma prone peeps)?

I’m sure none of us would. Truly, it’s what you don’t know that can hurt you.
A recent study has found that these toxic ingredients are not only pretty problematic, they are also bio-accumulative…… meaning that it’s very hard to remove them from your body once they get in there.

For example…..( in this particular study) blood concentrations of oxybenzone (just one of the dangerous 6 listed above) soared  to more than 180 times the FDA’s level of concern after a single application of sunscreen. Blood levels continued to rise to more than 500 times the FDA’s level of concern after 4 days (think vacation or pool time!) of regular use.

Now, factor in the bio-accumulative situation. 😳😱😬
It truly confounds me why these ingredients are even allowed to be on the market here in the USA. 😳… especially since the FDA is aware of this data. It’s their own information!
Thankfully, we have YL Sunscreen. No bad stuff peeps…. only good! Rest easy. Apply liberally. Enjoy the sun!

Heart Health with Essential Oils

Liz James · April 26, 2021 ·

My dear friend Jen…… she is a wise one. Good word (and info) this fine Monday morning! 👇👇👇
xoxo~ liz😘

Recently I walked some folks through a bit of time diving into 21 days of heart health. Heart health is so much more about emotional health than even physical health. And if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, spiritual health trumps all that and more.

I have found adding these three to a roller bottle, topping off with a carrier oil such as V-6 has done wonders for soothing and healing the heart- on a number of levels. Using your essential oils to begin the healing process is a must, yet I would caution you to not simply throw on the oil without a thought or intention of telling the oils where to go.
Yes, you heard me. Give the oils their marching orders. If you know, then you know. If you don’t- find me over text and we’ll chat it out.

Vetiver traditionally has been used in aromatherapy for relaxation and alleviating emotional stress, panic attacks, trauma, anxiety, insomnia, hysteria and depression. A 2015 study investigated the effects of vetiver oil as a tool that assists with reducing anxiety and the neurological actions in the central amygdaloid nucleus.
In case you’re wondering as I was when I read it, the central amygdaloid nucleus connects with brainstem areas that control the expression of behaviors; it’s responsible for the perception and results of emotions, such as changes in heart rate, blood pressure and respiration.

Ylang Ylang is another one that is powerfully beneficial for the heart. For starters it boosts even the most non oily human’s mood and has the capacity to reduce depression. Beyond that Ylang Ylang has been shown to lower blood pressure and decrease heart rates. So if you’ve got some situations happening in your ticker, this is one to add in.

Geranium– the oil of love and trust. Geranium encourages the opening of the heart space so love may flow freely. If the emotional body feels congested with old grief and disappointments, Geranium opens channels to let it all go, and make space for newness to circulate.
