Flooded Rooms and Faithful Hearts: A Night in Ohio

Liz James · July 22, 2025 ·

I was ready to buy a consonant Monday 😂 after my day on the road.

✅️ Iowa
✅️ Illinois
✅️ Indiana
✅️ Ohio

Beautiful territory! Lots of rolling hills, 🌽 cornfields, and as the sun was starting to set, sooooo many deer!

Zoom in on the church sign. I had to go back and take a pic of the name of the church😂. In all fairness, that was the name of the town I was driving thru, but still so funny🤭.

I was pretty beat when I pulled into my hotel for the night in Ohio. The poor clerk at the check in desk was the only employee on duty. She checked me in, and I went to my room and started getting ready for bed….. really looking forward to hitting the pillow….. pulled all my nighttime stuff out of the suitcase, and then changed into my pj’s in the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom barefoot and step onto the carpet in the bedroom part, only to find it soaking wet. 🥺🥴. So, had to put my clothes back on, repack my suitcase and go back to the front desk to ask for a non-flooded room🙄. Bless the clerk’s heart. The hotel was full, and the only empty room was one that hadn’t yet been cleaned from a late checkout guest. So, she went down to clean the room ( now it’s about 10:30pm). She is checking people in and then running back to clean and prep the room I am getting moved into. This goes on for about 30 minutes, and so I go down to the room and see if she needs help…. she is doing a very thorough job… I can just see she is stretched thin.

We start talking while I help her put sheets and pillowcases on my bed. I could tell she didn’t feel great (thinking she had a cold), which got us talking. This sweet gal tells me she has been diagnosed with MS for about 10 years, and we start talking about the medical side of it all, and how she found out she had MS to begin with. She tells me this story about visiting her mom in prison, being raised by her grandparents, the diagnosis of MS after she had massive nerves misfiring causing her to stumble repeatedly, and how her neighbors had called CPS because they assumed she was drunk.

My heart just melted as she was telling me her story while we worked on my hotel room together. It wasn’t a story to garner pity… we were just talking like friends, and dang I admire her grit and work ethic.

I did leave her a little Jesus (and a tip) before I left this morning. She told me she knows Jesus (that made me happy!).

If you have an extra moment in your prayer time, please give a quick word over Sami from Ohio. 🙏

The Hidden Power of Frequency: How Invisible Vibrations Shape Our Health

Liz James · July 20, 2025 ·

Frequency. Vibration. It’s all around us. This is a fascinating article (tho honestly, not surprising in the least). Even though we cannot see or hear these frequencies, our bodies certainly feel them and are affected by them.

When we are surrounded by unhealthy frequencies (whether that be 5G, EMF assault from countless sources, or ….. unhealthy relationships), it has an effect on our own body in a not so great way.

I had an interesting conversation at YL Convention with another health professional a few days ago. She works for a pediatric neurologist who has come to the realization that the vehicles the children in neurological distress ride in also matter. One of the questions that is asked on intake: Does the child spend time in an electrically powered vehicle?

Never underestimate the power of frequency (positive or negative)!
Headed out this morning for my last half day of Convention. I’m sad to miss one of my favorite things about YL convention, but I’ve got to get on the road to DC if I’m to get there in time.

Farm Day….. Young Living takes such good care of their plants… oh my word, do they! You can practically hear them sing 🌿🌲🎼💖😉.

Is It Time to Rethink Psychiatric Medication? A Reader’s Reflection on ‘Unshrunk’

Liz James · July 14, 2025 ·

A hand holds the book Unshrunk: A Story of Psychiatric Treatment Resistance by Laura Delano. The cover features a classical painting of three women in period clothing, one comforting another with a kiss on the temple. A quote at the bottom reads, "A must read." —Anna Lembke, MD, author of Dopamine Nation.

One of the gifts my parents gave me early on was a love of reading. Give me a book any day over screentime. I use them to learn/research, become better myself, and also to relax. This is one I finished last month.

Considering the state of the world’s mental health in general, Unshrunk is an incredibly important book for many reasons, not the least of which is informed consent.

I have had suspicions about the effectiveness of psych meds for years. Not just the efficacy, but also the safety due to the collateral damage the body experiences over time, and in 2023, there was an incredible broad study done which confirmed those suspicions.

I’m happy to have a conversation with anyone on this topic. Mind, body, and spirit are so intertwined. If one is ailing, the others will follow.

If you are a reader and curious…. this book is for you. (Here’s a short blog too: https://www.madinamerica.com/…/the-cat-is-out-of…/…

If you are better with auditory learning, this is a GREAT interview with the author, Laura Delano: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PdWKkyooCk

Here is another interview that you may find interesting (for the record, I would never suggest getting off of a psych drug without the help of a medical professional): https://youtu.be/6OMbza-fHrk

When You Need It Most: How PanAway Saved My Road Trip

Liz James · July 8, 2025 ·

I took an epic fall yesterday afternoon walking in my socks on our porch. A nail grabbed my sock, and I literally went almost face plant, but instead, landed hard on the right side of my body. Within 2 hrs, I had a grapefruit sized knot right below my hip bone and it was getting increasingly swollen/uncomfortable.
Enter Panaway.
I slathered that baby up about 5 times in the next couple of hours.
This morning…… no bruise, no swelling, just a tiny bit sore.
Panaway’s my superhero oil of the day this week. I’m prepping for a super long road trip (both for YL and BBHB) and there’s no time to be gimpy!💪)
And yes…. said nail has been hammered back to its rightful place😉🔨
I don’t use Panaway often… in fact, rarely. But this is one oil I’m never without.
